I'm a jeweler and commercial photographer by trade (specializing in photographing the work of other artists,) and have been slowly (re)amassing my collection of brick over the last few years.
I'm still primarily drawn to traditional brick (and thus Creator sets and their ilk,) though the majority of my early MOC-building was Technic-based designs in the late 80s and early 90s when attending and student-leading my school's Lego-Logo club.
IIRC, one of my most successful projects was an arachnid-looking critter that was programmed to bop about, operating like a spirograph and play a MIDI-ized version of Carol of the Bells while it worked..

My first major MOC as an adult, "Survivors of Trauma," was based on a stained glass window at the St. Silas church in Belfast, Ireland, and got its first public exhibition at Brickworld 2010 in Chicago, IL.
I've since been plotting more. My friends and fellow Lego-teurs think I'm crazy, but I say the most I can be blamed for is ruining the price of trans brick and plate on BrickLink.
