My photos and creations represent my love for the neighborhood architecture of NYC. While I love the NYC skyscrapers as well, my focus is on the smaller buildings and homes that will make for a more consistent train layout. Also, I try to add natural city grit to my creations (without painting or using dirty used bricks) with hopes of creating what I consider a realistic vibe.
My main source of inspiration is the neighborhoods I have lived in in the Bronx and Brooklyn. There are some amazingly detailed tenement buildings in both boroughs that have withstood the test of time and the cities darker days; both during the fiscal crisis of the 70's and then the crack epidemic in the 80's and early 90's, when many of the buildings either burned down or were torn down.
I hope you enjoy the creations. Though they don't always represent the usual shiny happy side of lego life, I strive to come up with new and interesting details all the time.
