Classic, Space and Technic

I'm an active member of Bricklink and Lugnet, so its nice to find a facebook style website devoted to the simple pleasures of Lego.

I've had verious forms of Lego for over forty years and even collected some of the earlier sixties Classic Lego. What I like with the Classic Lego is that its a lot easier to scratch-build a set you don't have.

I've collected a lot of Spaceships over the years, backtracking to get the really old ones I wanted as a kid. Of late I added approx five Star Wars Lego to my collection, incl the AT-AT and the Millenium Falcon.

I only have two railway sets. One is a classic locomotive fully restored with original motor, and the other is a Space Monorail set. Recently acquired another motor for the monorail set and aim to expand. I haven't build this set for over sixteen years, so its time to knock out the cobwebs and build my super space city.

My other fascination is with Technic Lego. I love the Super Cars. Many I have double or even triple as sets are more readily available. Through Bricklink I acquired many parts I needed or wanted.

Projects: had a few of these. Restoring and scratchbuilding all the Large Vehicles from the '60s-'70s was a challenge. Even custom-build a tandem-steer from broken parts.
A Technic Lego project is under construction. Modifications to the wheels are a top priority with this model. Also will be roughly true-to-scale.

Sculptures: I bought the VW Beetle. Very happy with it. Its also very fragile especially the roof.

Scratchbuild: Had an idea for a limosine and based it on the red and blue sportscars from the '70s. Getting the special parts was a fun exercise.
