As Follows is a brief History of the Empire of Rumination:
The Empire of Rumination has not always been the Expansive Military power it is today, like all civilisations it has a long and eventful history, the following information has been preserved for centuries and has been verified to be accurate by the Historical Society of Rumous.
The Rumin Civilisation started out in a similar fashion to the Humans of earth, developing first wind powered sea going vessels in what is now called the ‘First age of Discovery’ approximately 1500 years ago. As we explored and colonised our home planet our technology advanced, the internal combustion engine was developed during the ‘Industrial revolution’, the advent of the Motorised ground vehicle aided the expansion and development of our species and soon after powered flight was developed, approximately 1250 years ago.
As our species became more and more technologically advanced the Rumina Project was developed as an attempt to reach our planets largest Moon, the project was successful and within 100 years our species had colonised all three moons of our planet Rumina, Varta and Niltar.
The ‘War of Great loss’ was a conflict between the Eastern Protectorate and the Western Alliance; this was among the darkest times our species has experienced and during the course of the war over one third of the population of Rumous and the destruction of the colony of Rumina, the war was 1100 years ago.
As a result of the ‘War of Great loss’ the Unified Government of Rumous was created, this became the governing body of our Home Planet for over 700 Years.
The destruction caused by the war was not fully repaired for 200 years and for another 100 our civilisation prospered. As the population of our planet and its moons began to overwhelm the demand for food and other supplies the Unified Government of Rumous began the Expansion and Colonisation Project in which a fleet of 10 Vessels were constructed with the explicit purpose of colonising the other planets in our solar system, again the project was successful and our civilisation prospered for a further 100 years.
800 years ago our species developed the Faster than Light Drive, this allowed our species to construct inter star system research vessels and allowed the colonisation of our closest star system.
300 years ago the Kil’Tarian’s made first contact , and immediately declared war upon our species, this war lasted for 75 years and resulted with the deaths of 300,000,000 Rumins and the loss of one of our colonies but our Species prevailed and the Kil’Tarians were defeated and withdrew from our space.
The damage from the Kil’Tarian War was severe and took 100 years to rebuild and repair the damage caused. It was from the ashes of the Unified Government of Rumous that the Empire of Rumination was born, the goal of the Empire was to Militarise our species and colonise as many worlds as possible in order to ensure that our species continued to exist and that we would be able to defend ourselves if another conflict arose.
Over the last 125 years The Empire has colonised over 200 worlds and our Military has become one of the most powerful in the known Galaxy, the population of our species numbers approximately one trillion with approximately six billion population per planet, this rapid growth can be linked with the high fertility rates and rapid maturation of our species, for example, it takes 18 years for a human to reach adult hood, for a Rumin it takes only 3.
As follows is a brief explanation of some of the Technology of the Empire of Rumination.
The Empire of Rumination use projected Energy Weapons, and possess Plasma Shielding, (the ship projects a bubble of inert gas that is contained within a electromagnetic field, electricity is passed through the gas and it becomes super heated within the magnetic field, the gas reaches a temperature of 300,000,000 degrees which vaporizes any solid that passes through it and the electromagnetic bubble stops any radiation or other form of energy such as a energy weapon from hitting the Hull of the vessel, the only draw back of this type of shielding is that only certain frequencies can pass through the shield, this is no problem for ships within the EoR as they already know the correct frequencies, but if a non EoR vessel wishes to contact a EoR ship they must first be told the frequency to use, this means that only a EoR vessel can initiate contact with another non EoR vessel.)
The EoR also posses FTL Technology, the ship projects a massively powerful energy field around the ship, this field causes the space surrounding the vessel to contract toward the bow and expand towards the stern, this pushes the bubble of space around the vessel faster than the speed of light.
