Greetings, My name is Dreadman (formerly Inferno Thirteen)
Note: as of 1st December 2013, while technically inactive, I do check MOCpages every day, and have creations in the works
The first thing I'd like to talk about is my new name. I thought It was about time I gave "Inferno Thirteen" a rest, and re-name myself after Steel Horzon's Antagonist "Nicholas Dreadman," and why not, I did invent the character. So Here I am, Nicholas Dreadman, a TFOL living in Canberra, Australia.
The second thing I have to say is that being an Australian TFOL is a real pain. Lego costs twice as much here, there are no Lego stores in Australia (the nearest store is 14 hours away, by plane!, and recently, Lego has started making us wait longer for sets (we got 2013 Lego Star Wars sets in february, which is far from fair). I feel very ripped off.
Currently, I'm having a bit of a brake from Lego, but over the nest few months I should start to become active again. The main reason for this is school, but I'm afraid sometimes I loose interest a bit, given that I get new Lego twice a year: My BDay, and Christmas.
When I do upload creations, they'll be Star Wars, Steel Horizons (mostly), LEGOformers (sometimes) and recently, a bit of Bio-mocing.
A few months back, I took on a project that I likely can't manage, "Steel Horizons," a Post-apocalyptic Si-Fi comic. Currently, Steel Horizons creations are few and far between, however as the comic progresses uploads should become more frequent, as I learn the tricks to making Post-apocalyptic builds. I know, I probably shouldn't have started this with no experience in Post-apocalyptic creations, but I did, so...
Currently I have two, 22 episode seasons of Steel Horizons planed, as well as a third, Prequel series if all goes well. A few episodes have been written, however it still may be a few months before any episodes are uploaded. By season two, I hope to be getting at least 1 episode out a month, but who knows.
Steel Horizons now consists of two 11 episode seasons, to minimize filler episodes.
Some day, I plan to make a comic of Ignatious's past. Currently, this a five part series that will tie in with at least one of Harry 863's comics. This comic will not start until season 2 of Steel Horizons is finished.
My Policy on Modifying Pieces
When it comes to painting pieces, I do so very frequently. However, as anyone who's ever looked into painting a NERF gun knows, injection moulding leaves a glossy sheen over the plastic, which prevents most paint from sticking. This very much apples to acrylic, which can even be washed off plastic. So when I paint pieces, I use acrylic paint, so the painting can be undone.
As for modifying with a knife, well, its a bit more complicated. As some of you may know, dogs and LEGO don't mix. Pieces get destroyed. So, when this happens, I take a Stanley knife to the piece, and get cutting to save what I can. As the piece would have been thrown out otherwise, I make what use of it I can.
There was a time when I carelessly modified pieces, with both knife and permanent marker. What's done is done, but I make use of my past mistakes where ever I can.
I probably have more to say, but I'm not sure what, so this is it for now. Oh Well...
