My name is Grant and I have been an avid Lego builder for over 20 years. I have always been a sci-fi type of builder, with a specific taste for Star Wars, but I do have a fetish for the old school Adventurers themed Legos. I specialize in several particular areas of the lego study, including plant creation, star wars clone minifigure customization, small sci-fi vehicle creation, and custom adventurers minifigs. However, I love to experiment, so you will find that I often take forays into alternate building styles and themes.
About My Creations:
Unfourtunatly, I dont't do alot of building these days because I am so busy, but I have plenty of classic(creations that have been around for at least 3 years in my collection) creations that I have refined over the years. I am also trying to get back into the game a bit, so expect some new things out soon.
About My Collection:
My collection is a mishmash of old, new, and in between school legos. Unlike many builders, I am not blessed with the money to actively purchase new legos. A recent purchase of 33 dollars worth of brand new legos was my biggest lego buy in 4 years and my first buy in 2. To supplement the lack of newer legos, I employ a variety of methods to obtain the pieces I need. I am an active local trader and collector extraordinare. My negotiating skills are legendary and my ability to talk people out of thier lego collections is worthy of recognition in the Jedi Archives ;). At any rate, my collections reflect this haphazard accumulation of pieces, so take this into consideration if you comment.
About My Camera:
After some recent suggestions and comments on my picture quality, I have decided to add this little section to my page. I love legos more than anyone :). Don't get me wrong. But I have an education to pursue and a life to live. So my photographs arn't always perfect. Besides not having a spectacular camera, my lighting, background, and time table arn't always perfect. This leads me to my point. I try and post the best pictures I can. If I can make them better, I will. But please, please don't ask me to fix my photographs. If they could or can be fixed I will do it with or without your comments. Thank you very much.
About My Lego Beliefs:
I consider myself a lego purist, if such a thing is possible. I came from humble lego roots. My grandparents showed me to my first legos, which were a collection of red, white, and blue basic bricks. From the very beginning, I learned to build with what I had and not complain. My first set of personal legos was a basic building set with two minifigs, a vehicle, and parts to make a house. This slowly led to more legos but it has never led me to any great lengths of customization or buying sprees. A few years ago, I got so sick of the multitude of customized troopers that I started making a few with superglue and sharpie. Although they turned out alright, I quickly abandoned them in favor of the originals. I carry this same attitude with building techniques. Although I love SNOT techniques and other creative modes, I consider the first priority to be building the creation, no matter what the method. This comes from my roots of not having the pieces to practice SNOT methods even if I wanted to. At any rate, this is just the way I operate. Just a humble lego builder trying to get a little recognition for his creations. I respect others and I hope that they respect me.
About Commenting And Favoriting:
I welcome feedback. It has been years since I have had good solid criticism on my creations. So fire away. I ask that you be respectful and keep in mind that your comment is only your opinion. If you comment, I will make an effort to comment back. If I comment on your page, I ask that you try to make the same effort back. Personally, I am not one to broadcast those who have picked me as a favorite builder. I simply say, thanks guys, I appriciate it. If you would like to favorite me, that is awesome. It is an honor. To those I have favorited, I really respect you guys. You are all amazing builders and I look forward to seeing your newest creations.
About The End:
