A cool ship for my LEGO Sig-Fig, Caleb Pike
About this creation
This is Caleb's ship, the Kestrel. It began its life as a Corellian YK-2300 Freighter (I'm making this up...) but has been modified to suit Caleb's needs for it to be a fast, powerful vessel that he can live on. It has a Class One Hyperdrive, poweful Sublight engines and its weaponry consists of twin blaster cannons mounted on the cokpit, a rotating laster turret and heavy turbolasers mounted on the wings.

Here it is! the Kestrel! now look at the other pics.

In the armoury is where the crew can store their weapons and/or helmets. There are lots of clips for stuff in here. There are Caleb and joshua's lightsabers, Joshua's heavy Blaster and Joshua's helmet.

And here is what the two powerful Hyperdrive/Sublight engines look like. Not very good are they.

Here's the inside of the Boading Ramp, with another little red button for opening it! And there's Caleb pressing it.

And here is the most essential Boading Ramp, now with a little red button to open it (PIN code required after "How to rescue a Ship")

In the Crew Quarters we have a kitchenette, a small table for drinks and bunk besd - which fold out! I left Caleb's datapad at an angle on his bed to give a sense this place is lived on.

And here is the cockpit - it's has and X-Wing windscreen and it's pointed shape is good for space battles and such...

And here's the inside! There's Caleb at the controls - which consist of a computer and joysticks! Yay!

And here is Joshua at the controls of the ship's main console. It even has a swivel chair! And the gap to the left leads into the cockpit.

The engine room is where Caleb's droid, R7-D4 hangs out. There is the escape pod, engines and monitoring console and Joshua's Swoop. There is also a pipe connecting the two engines.

Small boosters on the bottom of the pod guide it in to land and the pod bursts open after atmospheric sensors determine the "breathability" of the outside air. All the same, this is one thing you don't want to see too often!
Caleb: Lost... All is lost... My ship, my possesions, my brother...
But that's not going to happen... Yet, anyway...

That's right, folks! The Kestrel now has greebling! If you don't know what greebling is, it is random stuff like levers and grills that you put on the side of a ship to make it look coll and "ship" like or to disguise blockiness. Here are some shots of it on the sides and top of the ship.

Now, inside, to the much improved interior of the Kestrel which makes it a lot better than the original versions. I have included rooms, the Crew Quarters, containing beds and a Corner-Kitchen and an Armoury where the crew store their weapons. You can see the computer console, cockpit, engine room and boarding ramp, too. My favourite alteration is probably the inclusion of a one-man Escape pod to rescue (some of) the crew from disaster.

Here is a darkened shot of the Kestrel's interior hallway. I included this merely to show that it had one. Meh.

And a section of greebling-covered roof folds away - with hinges this time to launch the escape pod! My favourite thing I have added since the Kestrel was built is probably this one-man Escape pod to rescue (some of) the crew from disaster. Small boosters on the bottom of the pod guide it in to land and the pod bursts open after atmospheric sensors determine the "breathability" of the outside air.

Finally, here is a close-up of the kitchenette with worksurface, gas burners a saucepan on the wall and - the uber-sink! All credit goes to supersniper of course, for this amazing idea! Man, it's annoying how the pics are alphabetical in MOCpages.

It looks too blocky, and the cockpit appears to be open to space, but you get points for all of the interior detail. |

Not bad! The back end with the interior is very boxy though. if you could add some details to the top and sides it would greatly improve the look of the ship. But you did a good job on the interior. |

Nice job Caleb. It is a bit blocky but I like the detail you put into the interior. keep it up man! |

Haha, Wil, I was thinin the same thing. Man, I play to much of that game! But I will never stop. But anyway, cool ship, but it reminds me of this other thing...like a box with wings...But the noseish part of it looks pretty cool. Later. |

the Kestrel is the aircraft carrier off of Ace Combat 5(for ps2). but this is still neatoo! i like the escape pod (the color is awkward, but that makes it all better) it is just a little blocky though. |
