Legoville International Airport was the first of my so-called 'modern' LEGO train layouts. It also is the only layout of mine to have lasted for more than two years. It was finally torn down on August 18, 2007.
About this creation

In real life, BAYLUG doesn't rate a club jet. On my layout, though, it's a different story entirely. Some day, BAYLUG... some day...

Passengers try to board one of the Airport's domestic flights. This is easier said than done, as the airplane has no doors...

There it is... the 'other' monorail station! And no, I don't know why the red garbage truck is partially off of the beaten road. It was probably pushed aside by Hurricane Kevin.

Here's a good view of the main monorail station and the commuter platform... not to mention the ultra-important pizza stand. Every self-respecting airport needs at least one pizza stand.
Such airports also need at least three yellow chinooks. If you don't believe me, look at the pictures below.

Nice to know the cops are out in full force today. I still have no idea what they're chasing after.

Here's the obligatory bird's-eye view of the airport. At the time, this was the largest LEGO train display that I had ever created. My current display is well over twice as large.

Tell me... how many runway shots have the dark luminescence of Darth Vader in the background. Yeah, not many... just what I thought.

Apparently today's flight sold out... ALL FOUR seats went. Who says the airline industry is on the brink of collapse?

It is a well known-fact that all self-respecting Lego Airports need at least three yellow chinooks. If you didn't know, now you do.
Don't say you weren't warned. I warned you about this a few pictures ago.

Props to the moron who decided to put a park next to an airport and an extremely busy commuter line.
Wait a second... that would be me, right?
Never mind.

Flight 208 sits delayed while Air Traffic Control tries to figure out how to enter the tower (see caption below)...

I really have no idea as to how people enter and leave this thing, as it has no ladder or door. It made a lot more sense five years ago.

that is funny and proves A LOT i wish i had that many lego tracks and trains. there r no good ones out anymore. 9v was soo good and now they killed it. i wish i had more track and i had as many train sets as u and ALL 4 SEATS WERE TAKEN!! i would still have 2 empty seats. i have barely any city peoplez. keep on building and make others jelous of your greatness. |

I am curious as to how the new "super air planes" aka 10 passenger planes land at this airport? I wonder what your thoughts are on the new planes, seeing as how you joke about these old planes? Do you think they are ridiculous? I do, seeing as how they use less pieces and take away from the fun despite being streamlined and including doors. |

Great layout, nice expanded runway. Very impressive. I hope to build a train layout in the future, but gotta make the space first! |
