The Mighty Grond stands 72 cm (28.3 in) at the head (spikes excluded). It's fully articulated and poseable (who else can say that of their giants, huh?). The tiny one is Rusty, a guy I made for scale comparison, and grew fond of :)
About this creation
Grond towers among any other Toa, Makuta, Titan, and stuff. Old Rusty stands in awe under the shadow of his best friend.
Grond might not be very bright (40% of his head consists in his eye), but Rusty wouldn't choose anyone else to ride into battle with. Or upon!!! :)
And besides, is's always good to have your shoulders covered. And your head. Maybe your whole house. Here we see Grond extruding his retractile claws.
A simple front view.
3/4 back view.
Grond is resting a while on a... tissue box.
This image speaks for itself.
Grond in an epic pose :)
A bonus shot of his bone structure (there have been some changes in the arms' support system). As you can see, it moves head, it moves arms AND flexes shoulders, rotates and flexes torso, and all of the legs' joints are working and stable.
As his name suggests, Grond is still a work in progress (still waiting for the Glatorians and the spare parts ordered from the states), so share your opinions to help me make him better!

Looks great, I kind of like it better than the v2, not so much the armor, but the design and sizing, 5/5. It's pretty huge, bigger than my mocs anyways. |

Where did you get the knee articulation joint? it isn't from any bionicle i've ever seen...Several days later... oh wait here they are. Go have a look at my comment on Grond V2. |

Here's what Bzpower is. It's a forum site where people share their thoughts on sets, read set reveiws and have fun. I'm already one, called MetruDume. Hope to see you on there! =] |

If you ever register on bzpower you should enter this beast (after adding a few pieces in accordance to the rules). I would hurry, because the contest closes on the 21st. But then again, you could already be a bzp member, but just haven't shown it...
I don't know what bzp is, plus Grond V2 is bigger and better... |

7. Who's Mata Nui? Btw, the V2 is going to be bigger. I thought 3 cm, but it'll come up nearly 5. |

It's quite useless to compare my giants with Puckett's, we use a completely different approach to the form/function balance. If you notice, where he builds dazing and awesome-looking but stationary MOCs, I build fully poseable figures, but with a quite simplistic look in comparison. You know, I wish I could build a giant technic skeleton for him to complete, I think it would be the perfect MOC!!! |

Whoa, awesome! I love these complex, big MOCs, a great job you've done on this! Awn, I don't liked rusty too much, but it's probrably because the big one takes all attentions...
Oh, by the way, thanks for the comment!

wow that is great... my record tall bionicle is 26 inches... il have to beat ur record :)
lol the V2 is gonna be 3 or 4 cm taller (probably 3), so keep that in mind. I really like your giant creations, but I'd really love if you'd put some Technic in them, so they can move. With their intricated organic-quasi-steampunk look they'd be awesome! |

Excellent design. Btw, The Infeareon you commented on was only the concept design. Now, with better parts and experience, I've been able to greatly improve the design and will hopefully have it uploaded soon. |

Yes, it's the biggest one yet. I'm not setting out for any records, anyone with enough pieces can build a stand-still giant, the most important thing to me is the poseabilty of the model :) |

Wow! That's absolutely incredible! It's unthinkable!.... What an awesome little dude named Rusty! Oh, and the giant is pretty good too... OK, in all seriousness, Grond is a work of art. I particularly like how well-proportioned he is, and how the head fits together. I'll be wracking my brain for weeks trying to figure out how you managed half of the stuff I see on this build. Well done, sir!
Gee... I'm going to blush again! :) I'll post more pics soon. |
