Ideas associated with Part 7 of the Project.
About this creation
Like I said in Part 6, since completing Part 5, I've had builders block.
Well, what is Part 7? The ideas and random thoughts that got me out of the builder's block and established what the back side of my starship would look like.
Originally I wanted engines that would swoop back really far and have shuttle that would be used for small research projects.
Well, those ideas were scraped because they proved too difficult. Am I chickening out? From a certain point of view, sure, but one of the essences of LEGO building is don't do anything you can't handle.
Besides, I read a Star Wars comic and had a different idea on how to handle the engines on this bad boy.

my first abreviated design concept. there is still a research shuttle, but engines don't 'swoop' back like they first did.

ideas for the shuttle. all of these will eventually be scraped.

perfect triangles are so useful. here's where I try to figure how to use them.
also note the new engine design concept.

here i'm trying to figure out where to put everything, and how big to make the ship.

a close-up of a new sliding door design. this one doesn't require the two extra studs worth of space, and seems a bit more discrete.

an internal door stolen directly from dan jassim. these will be used for the shower and toilet.

beginning concept for the shuttle, specifically the windscreen.

this one i worled most on. I'm using the 1x3x2 snot arch.

bottom side of it. i don't really like the shape, and i don't think it will match the ship. the blue windscreen doesn't matter, i'd buy a clear one, but it just doesn't seem right.

a back hatch idea. i *LOVE* the plate click hinges. EXTREMELY useful!

|
the doobie open. i found the little gap between the tile and the bottom plate allow some space to extend the opening part so you don't have that ugly one stud gap.

you may have noticed this from paul hartzog's brickshelf account. he radically changed the way i view chairs and interiors.

engine idea. I don't care for any of these, but will prolly involve them somehow.

the wrath of destruction. look how messy my work area is! the worst part of building is the sorting afterwards!
