Onward Eastern Block Soldiers, marching to the land, to crush them and kill them and make them free like us.
About this creation
Well, builder's block must end sometime, right?
Well, It did for me. I redesigned the rear to appear something more like the red republic starship from Episode 1.
After thinking about it, my spaceship will need somesort of Faster-Than-Light propulsion if its going to be a interstellar ship. To me, traditional thrusters just don't cut it. I imagine you've got to do SOMETHING to bend spacetime, and that requires something weird looking. (Like on my Duvernay, the nacelles on either side).
I'm going to try to figure out some cool SNOTy engine idea and technic pin it on later.
I used the 5-12-13 triangle (which fits really well with the 6x12 wing plate) for the engine "wings", and will fill them with greeblies and hoses and whatnot. On the outside i'll use greebles as well, held on with technic half-pins.
I've got a bathroom and a shower room, doors on each, and a sliding airlock door the seperates the engine room. The idea is that the engine section can be blown off, either if it has dangerous radiation, or as a giant escape pod.
And I've also started on a rear hatch. Yep, it will be between to thrusters, but you know... sometimes you got just say: "It's LEGO blocks, baby... It's LEGO Blocks."

layout of the rear section. notice the sliding door at the front, and the exit hatch at the back. the side "wings" are made using the 5-12-13 triangle.

the front side. I'm using the 1x4 side stud bricks for detailing there, as well. maybe use some slopes to round out the shape a bit.

the toilet with the door open. i went for a more traditional toilet design, and a little megaphone as some sort of waste processing thingee.

the back hatch, made using the new plate click hinges from the Designer series. they ROCK! and, by puting a tile over them, I allow a little extra space to make way for a longer exit hatch. yep, no more awkward first steps!
