My entry for Bionicle Flagship Display's weapon contest.
About this creation
Well, when I read that this was supposed to fit a Toa, I knew right away that mine would go on an old Toa. No, I'm not talking Metru, or Nuva, just the plain old old OLD ones. Why? Cause that weapon arm is the WORST possible fit for many weapons due to its inflexibility, and therefore represented a bit of a challenge.
(Secretly, I just wanted to see if I still had all of Lewa's pieces).
So here we have the Jungle Breaker itself. Normally, I balk at making oversized overmade weapons (nobody mention the MHVPL), but for this contest, I made an exception. Still, old habits are hard to kick, so this is a tad smaller than I'd like.
OK, down to the weapon itself. I was fishing around in piece bins to find some inspiration, and came across an Alpha Team (was that what it was called?) buzz saw. Right away, I knew what I'd make.
So here's a close-up of the main body of the weapon. Let me tell you, getting that buzz saw in there was a tricky tricky bit of work. Let me show you how it was done.
If you look closely, you'll see a little divot in the toe of the metal foot. The "stud-end" three rod clicks beautifully into this slot, and only comes loose if forced. You must use one of those little black double ended thingies with the rod hole (stop giggling, those of you lacking maturity) to hold the feet together. Remember, it turns until it's forced, then it comes loose. It's easily fixable though.
"What? Back to the parts bin? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Till next time:
