About this creation
While waiting for a warm day to take pictures of a castle diorama outside...I made a humorvig!

Some poor little dude is trying to sell some dead flowers in the middle of the dessert. I mean desert. Sorry, I'm hungry.

Other than Chris Phipson's hair in a lighting storm, the cactus design was inspired by Thomas Wunz. I'm still not fully satisfied with the top, and I didn't have the pieces to make four branches, but I think it turned out pretty well.

After getting like a million and a half flower stems from the Lego store in Bellevue Washington, I wanted to do three things. First, I had a sudden urge to make something that had a plant in it. Second, I want to reconstruct Mark Kelso's backyard during the making of the Invisible Hand. Third...I wanted to make a giant garden.

One of those three things are finished, and I didn't use ONE of those new flower stems. Next?

---------------------------------

Oh, and since I'm not gonna be posting the castle MOC for a few days, here's a sneak peak. Yes, I'm making you maximize it. =)

Quoting Kevin Hinkle Is that an official LEGO flower stem in that color or was it customized? Curious as I could think of a bunch of great uses if I could get my hands on some!
Actually they are an official Product. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=8&itemID=695 Jesse whenever you said you bought "a million stems" I thought you meant the brown ones and just about passed out. Whew! I was fortunate enough to find 2 on Bricklink and then all of a sudden their quanitities just declined until there are 31 left. People hoard those though. Anyway Spectacular MOC. the design for the cactus is well done as is the little skull.

a million flower stems from the Lego store in Bellevue, Washington, huh? I think I was there when you got them. Was it perhaps in August of 2006, maybe 2007? I was there stacking transparent green 1x2's into cups and there was this guy with one of those $100 green tubs that he was filling with flowers and trees I think. It's just gotta' be you! Needless to day, good MOC, nice cactus, but a word to the wise, dropping the masters' names will garner you no guanxi with them. You need to build things either shaped or named like genetalia.

Top notch work with both the cactus design and road construction! I love the way them came out! One question: Is that an official LEGO flower stem in that color or was it customized? Curious as I could think of a bunch of great uses if I could get my hands on some! Great creation!!

The pitiful expression on the poor vendor's face really made me feel for him . . . you've done what most other builders seldom do, by making me feel emotions toward your minifigure.

great - that road side vendor must be really old, because he's on a 21st century road and in the castle dressed as some medieval person!

Hmmm...nice vig, SNOT road owns! But, I didn't laugh or chuckle or hum...that means this isn't a very good "humorvig"!

Nice build JD. The cactus is great along with the cattle skull. And the commentary was so accurate it's scary.

Really cool little vig, JD. Not only did you capture the shapes nicely, but the color work and the textural variations are well done, too. Now what the *&@! is this about my back yard?
