Okay, so one day I just sat down and started building this purely out of a desire to build something studless. And this ship is completely studless, unless those studs on the ends of the cone pieces count, in which case I'm screwed.

This guy was also an excuse to use up some of my yellow and orange pieces. That's why I gave it a flame theme and color scheme.

Strange landing gear, eh? I think they worked out nicely, myself. The cockpit folds down and acts as part of the landing gear.

This ship is the personal vehicle of Zegaldorph, Lord of Mordark. Zegaldorph is a Mahlok, an alien species that can produce fire from their skin. He had this ship, the Afterburner, made especially to suit his desires.

Zegaldorph loves fire and speed, so he had the ship designed to be a fast as possible, colored like flames, and have a flaming jet engine just like he likes.

Here he is getting swallowed up into the cockpit.

This fighter is one of the fastest out there. Why do you think it has all those air intakes on the front? Zegaldorph sometimes enters racing competitions with it, and he rarely loses.

One person told me this ship looked so bulky yet smooth, and so red and yellow, that it looked almost like a Jack Stone set. I suppose that's an unfortunate side effect of being studless.

Here is the back. I felt like I had to find some kind of use for those giant yellow flaps on Anakin's Jedi Starfighter after I tore it up.

You do, of course, notice the flame colors... how they fade from yellow to orange to red? I thought so.

I ran out of RED cones right at the end. Heh.

The ship has a secret feature... it can fly BACKWARDS! This is the rear "cockpit."

But why, you may ask, would you want to fly it backwards? Well, Zegaldorph is a pyromaniac, remember?

So he had Firestorm cannons installed on either side of the main engine thruster to enhance and control the flames, thus turning the ship into a giant flamethrower!

LEGO flames, much like the fire sprites in Half-Life 2, are not very impressive from above.

BURN! Burn in the fires of the Inferno!!! HAHAHAAA... ha... ha. Okay, I guess I like fire too. It's the best of the four Elements.

Epic! Love the color scheme! BTW, if you hate the SW prequels, then why do you have Anakin's Jedi Starfighter???

Very nice. I do not think that it should be in your Nova Refuge folder, though. I do like the color scheme. This looks a bit like something you would have done a while ago. I have noticed your style has changed over time. Well, anyways, great job. Fire is the best of the 4. ;)

Well Scorp, I took your advice. I totally redid my wraith. You might wanna check it out. Anyway. Your uhhh.........flying fire ship is pretty good. I like it. The color scheme is really cool AND its studless. Although it does look a little bit too much like a Jack Stone set for my tastes, its still good. Good Moc.

WEll, to be sincere I already saw this on Brickshelf, and I always wondered what it was...well, I guess I know now. It's an excellent custom: the things I like the most are the colours (great "shading" effect, it actually gives the idea of a flame), and the overall design, very good even tough not so original. Additional details are good too, but I think that the "Jack Stone" effect is given by a relative want of greebling on the ship...a bit more, and it should look more realistic. Last but not least, great minifig...excellent work, keep it on! ^_^

Justin, this model is simply excellent. It is well made, and the colours fit easily into each other. Even though I don't know what Nova Refuge is, this model is great. I'm inspired with awe. Simply Brilliant, from a great MOC designer. Good on You.

More pics is what i needed, i'm the person who said the jack stone thing , it's just really chunky and smooth, it looks like the ship is a whole rather than built by pieces, but those new camera angles make it look better , you were right ILOVE the engine in the back, it looks...well nah it would sound to werid lol , I like how it transfers colors , and the landing gear , the way he gets into the ship I think was difficult to do , or was it? well i'm going to give you credit for it , and the fact that it looks like a flame and has red also adds points , yep fire is the best of elements.
