Having been formed in the 1980s, the Canadian SAS is an old military unit in the UCAF and is, in 2547, the finest military unit in the United Canadian Armed Forces.
The MARS soldier illustrated here carries a battle rifle and is suited with his special armor. Credit goes to Brian Kescenovitz for the head idea.
The MARS (Mobile Advanced Recon Soldier) Program's main objective was to create technologically advanced and highly trained soldiers, most like the SPARTAN Program. However, the members of this program were not genetically modified like their UNSC counterparts. Selected at the age of 16, the candidates undergo intense military training to turn them into the best soldiers on the battlefield. Since they are not genetically modified and don't have armours as complicated as the Spartan's ones, they can be easily created and in higher numbers. Being given special armor and using a variety of weapons, they are the finest soldiers of the Canadian military.
The paratrooper illustrated above uses a CSCAR-17 assault rifle and special gear such as a parachute and night vision goggles. credit goes to Zack NewRight for the helmet idea.
The paratroopers of the Canadian SAS are soldiers specialized in airborne operations, from HALO jumps to VTOL drops. Using state-of-the-art equipment like night vision goggles and technologically advanced parachutes, a small squad of SAS paratroopers can take down a whole enemy battalion and with sufficient support, they can easily rule the battlefield.
The engineer illustrated here carries a SMG and a shotgun. Note the blue shoulder pads showing he belongs to the SAS.
The Canadian Special Air Service also has its own engineer corps. They mostly repair the vehicles used by the unit and they are the demolition experts of the SAS. Using light weapons and carrying long-range radios, they can be really helpful in combat.
The sniper illustrated here carries a .50 caliber sniper rifle and a long-range radio to communicate with the soldiers fighting on the battlefield and with the command posts.
The snipers of the SAS are one of the best in the world. Trained to kill their target in one shot, they use sniper rifles specially designed to suit them. Deployed far from the combat zone, they can take out valuable targets and support the soldiers fighting on the battlefield.
The soldier ilustrated here wears a MH-7 Liger hardsuit and carries and assault rifle with a grenade launcher.
The Mechanized Corps of the SAS is the branch of this unit which specializes on tanks, vehicles and hardsuits. Supporting the soldiers on the ground, they can turn the tide of a battle really rapidly.
Here a general is armed with a special forces carbine.
Because every military unit needs officers to command them, here are the officers of the Canadian SAS.
