Fresh Kill: A Matrix Prequel
Fresh Kill: A Matrix Prequel was inspired by the Matrix trilogy. The Mako Hovership out on patrol in the early days of the first machine war encountered a lone Sentinel behind the front lines. The Mako gave chase and eventually downed the fleeing Sentinel. Twitch swore he saw a second blip on his scanner but the Mako was unable to confirm that after a quick flight around the area. By the time the Mako returned to the kill a Gila recon vehicle had arrived after hearing the chatter on the radio.... I origninally intended to make a larger hovercraft but it ended up smaller and somehow evolved into a diorama. I wasnt really pleased with the Mako through the mid way point and nearly scrapped it. But since I had started and abandoned this idea 5 times before I decided to finish it no matter what. Im glad that I did. After adding the hover pods and weapons load outs the ship really grew on me. So much so that I added a Sentinel and thena recon vehicle and the landscape and then I had to stop myself because I didnt think I would ever finish this thing. Hope you like it as much as my kids do - the crew is now in the trees, the Sentinel is toast and theyre begging for the Mako.
About this creation
Up close shot of the downed Sentinel.

Debris from the Sentinel as it tumbled and crashed.

Private Wells and Colonel Carson from the Gila recon unit and Captain Mack and Kat from the Mako hovercraft inspect the Sentinel.

A shot from across the front of the Mako hovercraft.

High above the scene.

A shot of the Large Gatling gun on the Mako's starboard side. The heavy load out points on each side of the ship allow for a varied mix of weaponry and/or surveilance equipment. In this case a Large Gatling Gun on the right and a Large Plasma Rifle on the left.

A good shot of the port side of the Mako.

This shot shows the forward landing gear and the mini Gatling gun that is controlled by the co-pilot.

Smitty inspects his handy work. A fine shot indeed.

"You see that Old Man? You need get some ball bearings and 30 weight and get to work."

Corporal Johnson and Private Taylor arent convinced that its dead yet.

A shot from high above the Gila recon unit.

The Gila with its doors open.

A shot of the cliff and trees in the background.

Absolutely awesome! Just screams 'Matrix', but not all-out, like it actually was a pre-war thing. Outstanding!

This thing has been posted a very long time, and yet it has only a few reviews. What's the deal with that? This dio rocks. Good ship, good squiddy, very well laid out. I really like the voyer watching from the woods. Attack!
