This bus is 4 wheel drive vehicle with 2 large electric motors and one small that was used for steering. Passenger doors open with a help of a pneumatic pumps. Now the doors work like a charm just like the RC steering. As for the wheels, that is a different story since this bus was not supposed to turn out this big but I guess I wasn't being careful about it. So it turned heavy as well. Even too heavy for the electric motors to run it. Of course, when you lift the bus up and turn the RC on those wheels turn and they are fast but that's only when the bus is off the ground. Anyways here are some of the pics of the vehicle just before it went to pieces.

Thanx guys for the comment! Yes I know it isn't the most prettiest vehicle to look at but there it is ;).
Anyways I know that with the properly put gears and stuff you can drive any weight without a problem but I believe that the problem was in using different cogs for front and different cogs for the back wheels. The result was back wheels were moving faster and front ones slower (combine that with the weight) and by the time i realized it it was too late and I was too lazy to repair the stuff. It would take too much of my time and anyways I had fresh ideas for another model. Maybe next time I do something like this I will get it right. You live and learn |

Awesome Technic skills! Not all that pretty to look at mind. Could you gear the drivetrain down any more? It would end up being *very* slow but with gearing Technic motors, even the old style ones, will shift/climb/pull almost anything. That would be more fun than lifting it off the ground to get the wheels spinning. |
