About this creation
What's new:
- Better formed trigger guard
- Working slide lock: The slide will only lock open when the magazine is in. Take the mag out, pull the slide back a little and the lock will drop and allow the slide to close. The idea of this feature is realism, not playability. {clarification}: The slide stays open when you pull the mag out. You need to pull the slide back for the slide lock to drop. This happens in the real gun, trust me. {second clarification}: I am mimicking the event when there is no ammo left in the mag. When the mag has at least one round, the slide will not lock open. However, when you fire the last shot or if you put an empty mag into the gun, the slide will lock open when the slide comes back.
- Spring on magazine to work the slide lock when inserted.
- Spring on the guide rod to close the slide. (pic of inside coming soon)
- Added grips, closest thing I can get to what the real M1911 felt like. I need some more 1x1 round plates.

Parts included in this design that I wish The Lego Group would make:

Excellent model, thought I don't like the modded parts. For your next project, I would love to see a new Mp5. I found your old Mp5 to be rather poor. At your current building level, I'm sure you could do a fantastic job.

Great Colt again Lawrence, but doesn't the barrel go a bit too high when the slide is back? O, well, it actually doesn't matter, it stays cool. I made a BAR 1918. Could you please give me some suggestions or give me some tips to make it better? For my (if I will make it) second version? Please?

nice, but why are all of the pics, except for the last one, all from the same side?

I almost cried when I saw this, my favourite handgun with so much details and functions... But, is it me or it looks quite like a Mk23 on your first person photos ? :P Anyway, I'd like to learn more about your mechanisms. :)

I like it! But I'm fairly certain that the slide does NOT close when the magazine is pull out, that would make reloading harder. But I dunno, maybe your right. But anyways, great Pistol!

sick...

It seems to me that having the slide stay back when there's a mag in the gun would greatly reduce playability, but to each his own. My only other complaint is the grip... it just seems... too irregular.

Looks great! I like the grip idea! I still think you should bricklink some brown bits to make something like the original M1911, but the black works too. You should also try a custom gun, something you just make up on your own like my M2009. With your knowledge of guns I'm sure you could come up with something amazing. As always, great work! Peace - Patrick

Beautiful! Is it hard to take your guns apart? I always have trouble taking mine apart. I still haven't taken my G36C apart.
