The shape of the front is what I was most concerned with capturing when I set about making this ship. Originally it was primarily slope pieces, but I found that I needed to use a combination of slopes, plates, and tiles to get the right proportions for the side "windows".

As it is, the front was difficult if simply because my sources were conflicting. The full size model you'd see in the shuttlebay seemed to be longer and more sloped than the model that was used for space shots and blueprints.

I would get the proportions right from one picture, then it would look off going by another. Once I figured out what was going on, I stuck to the space model's proportions.

I had originally taken these pictures with much more stark lighting, but I found it emphasized the brickiness too much.

This angle looks a lot better in real life. I think it's the shadows.

Picard stares distastefully from the poorly lit rear cabin.

In order to make the exterior minifigure scale and the right shape, I had to make some sacrifices in interior space. There's only room for one pilot, and the rear cabin is anything but comfortable. But Beverly's there to make you feel at home.

The nacelles are one to one half studs taller than I'd like, but otherwise it would be difficult to get a hexagonal shape. Legos don't like hexagonal shapes.

Very cool shuttlecraft. You can always tell when a person takes the time to focus on detail, and you have done that. Excellent job. |

The shaping and striping are good, but the blank stud fields beg to be made into something more interesting. |

You did a great job capturing the shape of the ship, but it would be better if you could cover up some of those studs. |
