The Temple of Jupiter, Pagnorvaria. The locals weren’t too sure when the temple was built and they had never heard of Jupiter. That’s why the Romans built the Romano Celtic temple to appease the natives. Any way back to the Temple of Jupiture. Built very soon after the Romans settled at Pagnorvaria to stamp there authority and power over the locals. The architectural style of Rome was used in the building of the temple as it was in the basilica and forum. The front façade boasts four massive Roman columns topped with the Ionic 'order' with seven to the side elevations. The temple is located opposite the basilica and forum at the top of the hill leading down towards the coast. The temple was dedicated to Jupiter and the locals are very fond of the sea.
Great job. Looks very authentic. I think that the Roman Empire will make a great theme if LEGO decide to make official sets.
One remark though - did the Romans worship Zeus? Isn't their main deity Jupiter?
