Grond is back! A Bionicle 81 cm tall, ridges excluded (31.9 in). Fully articulated! You over there, close your mouth, flies are getting in!
About this creation
A basic fighting stance for Grond and his friend Rusty (who's got a new armor).
Despite the recent spree in heght and numbet of Bionicle Humanoid Giants, he's still the tallest fully poseable and stable one.
the two friends resting a while doing some small talk...
"Tell, Rusty, do tiny black blade really can kill stuff?"
"Time for your first match in the Arena, big boy!"
"If Rusty cheers, Grond not lose, sure!"
"And for the main event today: The arena champion Tuma versus... Grond?!"

Not really. She's not into LEGO. Her mother was, though. But Grond's so old... It kinda bothers me that it's my most popular. There's far bigger giants now, and I did way cooler stuff myself. |

Grazie. Ti dirò la verità: Grond è stato "facile". Ho costruito uno scheletro in technic, aggiunto "muscoli" in Bionicle (sfere, pistoni) e poi coperto tutto con uno strato di armatura leggera. Era cavo, quindi pesava molto poco. E poteva assumere ogni posizione di un umano in armatura media.
E' quello nuovo che mi sta dando un sacco di problemi :( |

I got an interesting comment on my latest bionicle Makuta Daitein saying that Grond and him should have an epic battle. I instantly searched for this great creation and found that the two of them are almost the same size, have the same sort of build and both have those tracks around the hip area! But I'm not sure I have ever seen this MOC before...

Way to go, Yuri! Merely having a uniform color scheme in a creation this big is amazing. The fact that Grond's so poseable is yet another thing that sets him apart from other creations.
The only suggestions I have would be to create some long-range weapons for him (perhaps they could be retrofitted from a starship?).

The sad part was that the little "innocent" Bionicle gets ripped to shreds. Oh well! That's what happens when you mess with Grond or Grond messes with you!
Anyway... I love how well built this is! So much detail all around. Like Ty said- "Is it hard to add little details on this or elbow (maybe shoulder, I just guessed...) on a Bionicle?"-Well, at a size like this, it's VERY possible. So possible... Very nice creation, the use of silver armor and weaponry around the eye is fantastic! I have never really been a big Bio. builder so I have a quick question. Since Bionicle creations are indeed much larger than System MOC's is it harder to add smaller details to them (such as fingers or elbow joints)? ~Ty |

Anyway, I am nearing completion of my latest creation, a 1 meter tall giant with full articulation capability. Took me awhile to build and running out of pins. Never realized going tall and bulky posed lots of problems especially when you still need some good articulation Hope to post it soon and hope that you would be among the first to post comment. |

Seriously, as a non-bio builder I can only sit back in amazement at the sheer scale (if you can shake hands with a MOC, it's big) and the technical skill involved. Loving the articulation and posing too. Great work. |

Approx 1 year now from my first Bionicle. I think it was Toa Pohatu from the Phantoka sets... Then I got a Chirox and an Hydraxon, and I built my first MOC (which has never been posted, anyway). But I got some Exo-force before that, and something from lego factory, nearly 14 years after I gave all my old lego to an orphanage. So I'm both a new builder, and an old builder :) |
