Samus Aran, Areetsa Edition
I'll be the first to admit she looks nothing like this, but it would be kind of nice, wouldn't it?
About this creation
I mean, come on: if you had blades on your elbows ingame, you could perform some pretty awesome melee stunts.

This is the standard Prime game pose: you can see it near the end of several 'uh-oh, boss. Let's run, fast, and not look back' cutscenes. Of course, you can't actually run.
Unfortunately.
You can also see it by opening up the menu and selecting 'Weapons and Equipment' or whatever it says, and pressing X. Or was it Y?
I am not plugging in my gamecube, sticking in the disk, memory card, powering it up, starting Prime and all that just to find the exact wording of something so inconsequential.

No-one knows what the post-Fusion Power Suit may look like, and since the Varia is overdone, I decided to make a wild guess.
Actually, I was making a power armour hardsuit and thought it looked a bit Metroid-ey and adapted it. And liked the new look.
I like this look, though; and it just may be exactly what the new suit will look like, it just might. You never know, after all.

I can indeed get away with not fitting a minifig; allow me to explain.
I do not usually like hardsuits that don't fit a full fig.
However, Samus' suit is integrated with her body, in a way: in Fusion it explicitly states it is tailored for her, contains biological components and cannot be removed while unconscious, and, logically, if against her will.
In Prime 3 and Zero Mission, it is shown appearing around her, thus indicating she is firmly attached to it while it is in use.
Thus, it can be said that while being worn, it is a part of her body.

Thus, I can get away with not fitting her full body inside: it is her body, in a way.
And, of course, this scale is more realistic to human anatomy than minifigs.
So I'd do this anyway, even if I didn't have a convenient excuse.

I know the back is a bit plain and the lower torso is a little too anorexic, even for miss Aran; I intend to fix those.
In the meantime, just assume she's had an overdose of diet pills.

This model is 100% pure lego. Not a single connection used is capable of damaging parts and no stickers, 'decals', sharpies or paint are used, and, of course, not a single part has been tampered with.

This model is 100% pure and can be replicated at will.

It is, however, a beast to pose and the shoulder plates interfere with arm mobility.
Nothing a suitably obsessed fan can't work around, though.

Now, I need a lego Geemer. Does anyone have any Geemers?
And speaking of Geemers, that patch of blood on the rocky floor is supposed to be Zoomer blood. They're both pretty similar, so yeah. Thinking of Geemers can remind one of Zoomers.

Come to think of it, why are they called Zoomers if they're so slow?
Just one of the many Metroid Mysteries...

And the obligatory 'if you're a Metroid, this is the last thing you'll ever see' pic.
But that's not quite correct, as Metroids are resistant to standard Power Beam shots, and the fired shot is either Plasma Beam or Power Beam.
Since the Ice Beam and Missiles are needed to even scratch them, and since neither is being fired, then I'd say you're either about to get a nice meal of Samus scalp or you're a Mochtroid.

I swear, there WILL be modifications to this design. It needs some work, I know that.

A chick in a hardsuit with big guns, what could be better?

Neat! The legs look a bit blocky, but the rest looks very organic like all the Metroid suits. The shoulders remind me of the Power Suit, and the arm-blade is kind of like the Fusion Suit. Take a look at my Metroid builds, if you find time. I've done the Corruption gunship and a model of Samus' helmet.

There's some pretty interesting ideas in the design and the build. Unique and nice !

Oh hey, I was just looking at the main page and this thing is plopped squarely in the middle of the 'Everyone's Lego Creations' thing. Not too many of my mocs ever get there, let alone stay there for any period of time, so thanks guys. And on a more practical note, the legs on this thing look a bit too long from these two angles; I see what you mean, Phazonix, when you said it needed to be shorter. Believe me, though, when I say that the legs look fine from SOME angles; all mocs have a good side and a bad side; I've learned to pay more attention to the viewpoint of the CAMERA, then.

Quoting Metroid Killer You are my hero, this is one of the coolest Samus figures I've seen in a while. I'd like to see it added to the group that I admin, "Hardsuits Unite!". Also, you need to get prime 2, otherwise the whole "dark samus" thing isn't half as cool. -M.K.
Thanks; I myself think it's just middling, but I myself like to browse the directories of folk like Mark Neumann, Izzo and many others with far too much skill. Well, I'll have a look at that group; I think I've seen it before, actually. As for the 'Dark Samus' thing, I know all about it, as it applies to Prime 2; I did a fair bit of late-night reading on the subject of the Prime series' plot; had nothing better to do at the time. I intend to buy the second Prime game at some point, when I have some spending money available.

Quoting Clan Father Tom Olivieri: S.C. Cool, very nice job. I'm assuming you play the Metroid Games? Personally, I don't enjoy them, but, I think the technology in it is just fascinating.
Oh yes, I've got a whole bundle of them; Prime 1, Prime 3, Zero Mission, Fusion. And when you consider that ZM and Prime include the first game, I've also got two copies of Metroid. I've played Hunters (didn't think much of it) and Pinball, as well. (Didn't like that one either; the only good part was the music.)
Quoting Clan Father Erik Ackroyd Nice work, but it seems Samus has evolved to where she no longer needs any abdominal muscles or organs...Anyhow, the white color gives this a nice, clean look and feel. And like some others have said, the goggles are a nice touch.
I am fully aware she looks a bit too anorexic, not to worry, the new version I'm working on right now fixes that; still looks a bit wasp-like, but it's supposed to be like that. I'm not going to question the basic artwork, as I (and possibly every other male gamer to ever play a metroid game) quite like the general shape.
Quoting Clan Father Erik Ackroyd Anyhow, the white color gives this a nice, clean look and feel.
Actually, the word I think describes it best is 'egg-like'.

Quoting Jonathan Pastuch Wow! great job! i think the goggles on the shoulder pads were a good touch!
Well, I put them there before I noticed that it looked a bit like Samus; sort of a texture addition. As a matter of fact, I remember that minifig hands fit in the eyepieces; I'm sure that will be useful.

Quoting Elite Marshal Phazonix 2010 Cool Job! Though I will agree with you, it needs a little work. Maybe a little fatter around the waist, and maybe a tad shorter. Other than that, Great job!
Well, I'm planning to thinken the waist; I have a few ideas that may work. As for shorter, I dunno; I think it's pretty close to the correct height now, and the only way to shorten it would either make the arms too long or the legs out of proportion.

Quoting GooGoo GaGa The Great its very simple but its GREAT!
Thanks; I myself think it needs a bit of work, but what doesn't, that's what I want to know. Anyhow, if you ask me, I think it's better for a moc to be simple to the point of crudity rather than immensely complex and greebled to the point where it looks like something the dog spat out.
