The first of my water minions =]
About this creation
Algas is one of Tolus the Waterlord's minions. He had control over sea plants. On Earth, this power would be pretty much useless, but there is a lot more variety and complxity among sea plants in the bionicle world, including varieties such as airweed, exploding callycrack, and the submerged fangvine, which is full of deadly poison.
Of course, Sea plants aren't found everywhere, so Algas generally drapes saweed over himself when he's out and about, in case he needs to use it.
Algas was a Takea shark before he became a minion, when the waterlord found it in injured after a fight with a tarakava near Mata-Nui, he took it in, and let it become one of his minions.
Algas still acts quite sharkishly, and will always persue his target, even if a better one comes into view. He's not extremely intelligent, for a minion, but he does know how to hunt, and he does know how to cook, so he generally prepares meals of things like sushi for the inhabitants of Ga-Korroth. He carries a modified thornax launcher with an exploding callycrack seed pod for self defense, and the coral spear is for fishing.
--You can take this to show that I've officialy murdered Gresh. I've never liked him, and I feel that it's good that I did too =]
The colour scheme was one of the first things I sussed out. I've never seen light Green and light blue used together before, but I think they give a nice pastille effect to this guy. Everyone who knows me knows how much I like messing around with odd colour schmes =]
The head is inspired by the Selkath from KOTOR I, and the rest of the MOC is inspired by the seaweed I've seen around Scarborough, my Night Goblin MOC, and the turaga. The body uses tons of unorthodox building techniques again, just like all my other minions. The Life Counter from Gresh really accentuates his back part there, and I've never used those Exo-Force torsos on a Bionicle MOC before, so this is a first for me. Again, Mata-Nui Matoran body peices have proven invaluable here =]
Also, Algas is the Portugese word for algae. Isn't Babelfish grand?

D= wait. Isn't that blu-tak
keeping the mouth there?!? Yes indeedy, but really It's not like I don't do this all the time. Besides, he really looks weird without that Cheese Slope in there.
Rate? Comment? Plate of Sushi? I'm sure Algas would be happy to provide =D Fetch the nets! We got customers!
