This is my full review of set 8019, the Republic Attack Shuttle. It is, overall, a well done set. It has its pros and cons, and here's my assessment of both.
About this creation
Obviously, the wings fold. The set has a remarkably rugged frame (I even pulled of a barrel roll while swooshing it).
I don't think that the engines really lived up to my expectations from the rest of the set, but I'm not going to complain. After all, who doesn't like getting a butt-load of trans-light-blue studs?
The interior is adequate, and contains a fair amount of detail considering how cramped it is (a minifig would have to lie down to fit under the roof, the sitting Windu's head fits up into the upper structure of the fuselage).
The cab is fairly roomy, with plenty of space for the pilots, but the nose should have been better filled in.
The bomb-dropping mechanism is brilliant, allowing bombs to be dropped individually, instead of both at once.
The Flick-Fire missiles are mounted on a separate Technic rod. After all of the missiles are spent, the rod drops through the bottom of the shuttle.
The set comes with some good minifigs: a standard Clone Trooper, a Clone Pilot, and a Mace Windu. The Windu's torso is very nice, but I find the head to be a little weird, even by Clone Wars standards.
All in all, the Republic Attack shuttle is a fairly nice set, and gives you a good amount of brick for your buck. I would recommend it to to the Lego community.
I have that set! It is very good but yes I don't like the interior, so I took out the weapons rack and added more seating and attached the light saber to the side of the hole in the floor. I also think the bomb-dropping function is amazing!
