It does everything a praying mantis can do and more!
About this creation
Another uber-deadly creation from Saber-Scorpion, and it's actually not Xarkon-related this time!

I entered this a create-a-driod contest someone did on my website forums.
Photo "instructions" are available in my Brickshelf gallery. I normally don't do that, but it was a requirement in the contest... heh.

I don't really like the way the head turned out, but when I asked a few other people, they said that the Bohrok eyes worked awesomely, so I kept them.

The Blood-Mantis is armed with four deadly katana-arms and a pair of deadly, silent harpoon-launchers. The mantis only carries a limited supply of harpoons for ammo. They are stored in canisters on the arms and legs.

Here it is standing on its fore and hind limbs to aim its harpoon-launcing middle limbs.

AAAAIIIIEEEEE!!! It's like one of those old corny b-movies with the giant insects! Except... better... of course.

Praying mantis's like to live around our house. You don't see them very often, but they're there. They're easier to spot when the babies first hatch out of the egg sacks (which are big brown blobs, easy to find). The babies are cute. For pictures, check the Guns Museums by Nannan Z. Yes, it can curl up. This is mainly for flight mode, which I'll get to later. The pics are kinda out of order.

Here is the rear booster. I'm sure you've figured the rest out by now, right?

Pop-out wings! Yes, real Praying mantis's really do have wings, and can fly short distances. They don't look like Buzz Lightyear wings like these, however.

Thanks to LEGO for making that Viking Warrior vs. The Fenris Wolf set. Finally I can get my hands on lots of those awesome pivot pieces! Oh, and BTW, the Vikings series RULES. Go buy some, right now! Especially the longboat.

Imagine these swarming over the sky overhead. Cue scary music.

Standing tall. Well, I guess that's all then. This was really just a fun creation to make. I might make more insect bots... maybe.

Not bad. I think that the back is lacking a bit. Also, the wings could have been WAY better. It is not bad, though. I think it is funny, I am listening to Itunes, and when I read "cue scary music, Find Your Grail, from Smapalot came on. :P |

Excellent. You were wise to keep the bohrok eyes. They make for the perfect mandibles. |

Very menacing, except the fact that you ran out on colors! Or maybe you did that on purpose, great moc nonetheless. |
