About this creation

The GringatTronics franchise wasn't very successful, when it failed due to the economical competition with Nuparu's Vahki, Gringat was completely bankrupted and fled to the island of Poliaz to start his business anew.

While it did not succeed, many of the inventions of Gringat's still stayed on the market. One of the most successful was the T'err Avorr missile platform, which was originally installed on his spy drone model 32b. The platform could fire 6 missiles in rapid-fire succession, and they had a magnetic lock-on system that would gude them to the nearest protodermic surface - namely, Bionicle armour.

While a few are still in circulation, the T'err Avorr weapon was never as successful as the Nynrah Ghost Blaster or the Cordak Blaster. It was big, clumsy, difficult to reload and very expensive.

But the BOM were interested in it. Raximoras, one of the BOM's top technicians, stole a GringatTronics spy drone and reverse engineered the missile platform into something quite devastating: The T'err Avorr Shadow Mortar.

The mortar fires 4 bolts of metal-seeking shadow bolts, which can instantly kill most matoran, and strip away a toa's elemental powers for weeks on end. It's now very simple to reload: all a makuta has to do is hold it to release energy into it. The weapon was invaluable for many of the BOM's warriors, at least until they managed to come up with even more devastating forms of weaponry.
