Probably one of the largest models I have built to date, measuring 37 studs long (12") not including the barrel) by 20 studs (6.5") wide including the side panels. It features sloped armor, a turret that can rotate 360 degrees, and a PKM machine gun with an underslung grenade launcher and RPG launcher.
About this creation
The rear end is similar to that of an Abrams; see if you can spot the differences.
It was difficult getting the turret slim enough to look good. Sloped armor solved many of the beauty issues.
The side armor plates extend down to provide the treads with maximum protection.
The turret can only turn about 220 degrees, due to the added sloped plate at the base of the turret.
Simple yet effective suspension. I couldn't use springs or elastics because the damn thing is so heavy it would have broken them.
Remote operated .50 cal with underslung grenade launcher and side-mounted RPG.
The body is entirely solid, save for the drivers hatch.
On the trampoline.
The (slightly too small) drivers hatch.
Here it is crushing a small jeep.
There are two hatches in the turret, the smaller one holds extra ammo for the .50 cal and the larger one contains tools.
Front view (obviously)
Rear view. The two communications antennae (did I spell that right?) have an annoying habit of falling off...
Side view. The two launchers on the side of the turret can launch either anti-tank missiles or tear gas grenades.
Holy shizzle! I can't believe that no one commented on this yet! Just amazing, the turret. Also the body, it looks nice and armored, but overall an amazing creation! This musta gotten pushed to the next page :(
