Underside details are SOOO Soviet.
About this creation
Well, one of the big things I had planned for the Kalashnikov was a detailed underside. All the best space creations have them, and all softmoric space creations don't. On the Josef Fighter I tried doing something fun downthere, but I think with the Kalashnikov I really stepped forward.
One of the things that really helped was having a plethora of inverse dark grey slopes. I've bought them from various bricklink sources thinking they'd always be useful. And they were! I used almost every single one (except maybe eight or so).
I also had a chance to do landing gear. The Duvernay didn't have any, and the Anju's landgear, well.. felt shoved on to me. I started with something I stole from Jon Palmer's Q Wing (Sith Eviscerator), but they couldn't hold the weight at all, but that is for Part 12.

here's the beginning. note the "chin" defense guns. these are lower calibre than the side one, but useful, none-the-less.

some more detail here. in future models (smaller ones) i will try to avoid the 'undernieth of plates' look, but for now i just live with it.

how it stands on them. in order to have the strength necessary, they have to be straight down. at angle, the weight of the rear forces them farther down.

landing gear. although it seems like it might work, this is really a disaster waiting to happen.
