My biggest MOC, a non-existent battle during the height of the great Clone War...
About this creation
Here's my largest MOC ever, the Second Battle of Naboo. It is my entry for Tom Oliveri's Star Wars Battle/Base Contest. I know that Naboo is too secure of a Republic planet for the Separatists to even think about invading, but after building the diorama, I decided that it looked like... Naboo, unfortunately. Here are some quick statistics about the diorama:
- It's 96 studs x 96 studs
- That's a total of 9,216 base studs
- There are 32 Republic units
- There are 37 Confederate units
- There are 8 vehicles total
So, with those epic facts put out of the way, I'll let the pictures and captions do the rest of the explaining. Please review, and thanks for looking!
There are a lot of pictures, so strap yourselves in, and enjoy the ride!
Other side, since the diorama is horribly asymmetric.
The Republic stronghold.
The Confederate army advancing.
It's like Battle of the Marsh all over again, eh?
The Republic outpost on Naboo. Not as easy to design as it looks...
The pine forest out of which the 91st Reconnaissance Corps emerges.
Shot 'o da' heat o' da' battle.
414th snipers on the rim of the outpost.
The 28th Attack Battalion battles the Separatists for the lake territory.
Their... weak, I may add, opponent.
"Commander, we have the Republic trapped against the outpost."
"Very good, Lieutenant."
Crashed BARC speeder; one of my favorite details.
An OOM Homing Spider droid fires its primary laser at the outpost walls.
An A5-RX Juggernaut fires its missiles, to counter the Confederate artillery.
One of the two turrets on the outpost.
See the Republic officer inside the base firing his pistol into the blue? Lil' sav...
"Move, move, MOVE!"
The technique I used for elevation change.
I added a little something to the walls to make them look stronger.
This guy seems to have found a good sniping spot... That's you in your video game.
Neyo, standing around like the wimp he is. (No offense, Neyo fans. That's just how I portray him in my army.)
Republic Officers, fleeing to a higher spot.
Some computers in the base. I didn't spend a lot of time here.
Well, more computers...
An assortment of clone troopers shooting down droids from behind those cheap, sand-filled bunkers. Well it was a surprise attack...
Young Spidey in the house!
Love this shot of the Juggernaut.
Low-down angle of the 28th's resistance.
Piece of STAP...
Trees. Lot's of em'.
A couple of BARCs rush in form the forest.
Nice picture of the clone battlefront.
Debris of the crashed speeder hit the bunker, starting a small fire.
My favorite picture of the whole thing!
Top view, for a sense of the infantry placement.
One more time!
Now, I did not build the battle knowing the outcome, nor is it written in stone. So, you tell me what you think!
Ninety-six studs by ninety-six studs. Wow, epic much? This really is huge. All of the additions like the crashed speeder bike, missiles on there way out of your tank, the water effects... You have truly outdone yourself this time. Just tell me how you did it so quickly! I spent the same amount of time on a 6-wide car! Overall, 5/5.
Your grandest and most epic MOC to date! The photos are excellent; there's so much to see. All the intricate details really add up. It's very complex and I know you put a lot of work into it. Most excellent job!
Wait... I never got Chas' Email! All I got was a link to his Yahoo page, which I couldn't access because I have to be a member! I will post tommarrow as I promised, but I just wanted to clear this up. Dax, I'll post my review tonight. Right now I'm too busy. Again, I just wanted to clear this up.

Awesome! I love the scenery! The missile firing effect is also very cool!
I think the CIS will win.
And, is this your entry for my contest?
Anyhow, great work!

That's huge! 2 questions. How many baseplates? Have you read the story on my latest MOC?
The battle is the size of nine standard baseplates arranged in a square. However, I actually used ten baseplates, because one is half blue and half green. And I 'll try to get around to reading your MOC sometime today, perhaps ;)
