rms mesa
this is my shipping line's first purpose built multi-use cargo carrier. the mesa could carry upto 3000 tonnes of any cargo. it used 2 huge engines to propell it at a speed of 24 knots. the mesa served for 14 1/2 years. its serving days were tragicly cut short when one of the crew sabataged the engine, he planted a bomb in the store room just aft of #1 engine. the blast destroyed the engine 1, badly damaged engin 2 and the deck above cought fire. the crew failed to put out the fire and the ship was abandond. just 5 minits after abandoning ship the entire superstrusture was a blazing inferno. the fire took several days to burn it self out.the ship was towed into a near by lake while the shipping line decided what to do with her still smouldering remains. eventuly it was desided to sell her for scrap. the folowing week her number 2 engine was temporelary repaird and the rms mesa left the lake for the brakers yard just 4 days from its 15th launch annaversary.
