A Walk in the Grass. Some talking, some stuff, some things I can't say because of spoilers.
About this creation
Good morning, afternoon, or evening veiwer. Lately, it's been harder and harder to write an intro up here for these. Most of what I want to say is after the comic.
(After signing the UNE-COP Peace Treaty, VF-S 1 and just about all of the Harbinger crew are granted shore leave on the planet Koron in the Aeaea system, same system as VF-S 1's "birthplace", Owyhee. However, because he is a machine, he has a job to do down here as well: A remote village only accesible by foot needs medical supplies. Who better to do it then a machine?)
Pearce: Well, Varion, it sure was nice of your Fleet Lord to grant us all shore leave after you made that peace treaty with the UNE.
VF-S 1/Varion: YOU ARE CORRECT.
Sergeant Grel: Well, if isn’t the machine lover!
Pearce: Excuse me?
Grel: You heard me. Why don’t you two go be sad somewhere, wimps.
Pearce: Wimps?
Grel: That’s right, “Doctor” Pearce. I doubt you’re even a real doctor. Just go. Take your stupid robot with you, too.
Grel: That’s right, I called that worthless piece of machinery stupid. It can’t even take any fire without whining about it. You know- Auh!
(Pearce has had enough of Grel trash talking, and punches him in the face to shut him up.
Pearce: That moron had it coming.
VF-S 1/Varion: INDEED. I WOULD HAVE CRUSHED HIM, IF I WAS NOT HANFING HERE.
Pearce: Speaking of that…
Pearce: I hope you’re not using those talons on your feet to keep a grip. This building is very old.
VF-S 1/Varion: I WILL DISENGAGE.
Pearce: Oh, that guy you said you were waiting for is here. Good luck to what ever you’re doing!
VF-S 1/Varion: HOPEFULLY I WILL NOT NEED LUCK.
Arrin: Ah, machine, right here where you said you’d be. Ready to head out?
VF-S 1/Varion: AFFIRMITIVE. EVERYTHING IS BY THE SHIP.
Arrin: Good, we got quite some ground to cover today.
(Several hours later, Arrin, the local guide, and VF-S 1 are walking atop a plateau.)
Arrin: Sometimes I envy these plants. So little worries.
VF-S 1/Varion: I KNOW THE FEELING.
Arrin: Not a single job or duty to do, other than live and survive.
VF-S 1/Varion: SOMETIMES IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO SURVIVE. LIFE HAS TO BE WORTH SURVIVING.
Arrin: Wise words. Same could be said for many things.
VF-S 1/Varion: LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT; GOOD OR BAD, FOR YOURSELF AND THOSE AROUND YOU.
Arrin: Too true. See that plain, down there?
(Arrin and VF-S 1 look out over the tall grass plain in which they will be soon walking.)
Arrin: We’ll have to cross it soon. Be careful, there are dangerous things down there.
VF-S 1: NO CREATURE WOULD ATTACK ME. I POSSES NO VALUE IN TERMS FOOD.
Arrin: We’ll see.
VF-S 1/Varion: I DETECT NO THREATS NEARBY.
Arrin: Sometimes threats are closer than you think.
VF-S 1/Varion: I PREFER WHEN I KNOW WHO MY ENEMY IS.
Arrin: But that’s not always the case.
Arrin: We’re almost out of the plain. We should be at that village by nightfall.
VF-S 1/Varion: GOOD.
(Suddenly, EOS camouflaged troopers and a light walker pop up out of the grass, pointing their guns at VF-S 1.)
EOS Captain: Don’t move, machine!
Arrin: Sometimes threats are close than you think. Drop the gun.
Fun but-not-really facts:
Slip Knot was supposed to guest star, but he just didn't fit into the plot. I'm pretty sure I can work him into 6 though.
Arrin's actions, and exactly why the flux the EOS is this close to a major COP world, will be explained in 6, next Saturday.
The EOS walker was originally for something else, I built it one night during one of me and Gus's chats. But I wanted to include it somewhere, so I stuck a bunch of leaves on it and said it's for the EOS.
Gus, Anders, Erik, Edward, and Commando Scorpion now, there ain't any clues to the future here, but still, don't say anything.
Leave a review, or this dog's cuteness will lessen! You don't want that, do you?

Posting MOC's is my buisness here. And next week's should be just as good. Because there will be an epic moral dillema, fighting, and the equivelant of torture for a machine. It'll be good. And like I said previously, the plot twist here is just a lowly one compared to what is coming.

Postponed. My plots don't often work with guest stars, such as this one. If I had a COP member staring as the guide, I couldn't have that member betray them. I'll see what I can do for number 6, maybe you and Slip Knot can be in it. |
