Indy's real ride
Not many people know it, but Indiana Jones loved to tinker under the hood of his hopped-up roadster.
About this creation
Ok, let me clear: I was not going for realism or some cool building technique here. In fact, I started out thinking space and wound up with this -- and I really like the look of it, so it's going to Brickworld in June. I just tore down the Creator set 4939 (Cool Cars)and I bought the passenger compartment on Bricklink about a month ago. I stuck on the undercarriage of 4929 and away I went. My inspiration comes from the pages of CARtoons Magazine, which sadly is gone now (but it's best comic, Krass and Bernie, lives on in Car Craft Magazine). My brother and I would devour that mag every month when we were kids and he spent hours drawing cars throughout his youth because of it.

Now, let's take a tour of this baby, eh?

Someone's going to point out that the bed wouldn't hold much -- it's just for show. The only thing Indy hauls in this thing is himself (sometimes Marion or Mutt). I'm really happy with the look of the engine, even though it looks totally fake I just love it. Realism isn't my bag, anyway.

When you build something for speed, you don't worry about comfort. You just want to deliver that pizza in 30 minutes or less.

Below is my second favorite shot besides the main photo. This puppy just looks fast.

As far as commentary from me, that's about it. Don't worry though, I've got another MOC in mind that will feature this creation. That's when I'll try to get witty. Thanks for stopping by!

That's great, I like the motor and details. You forgot one thing... the hot date he got with it.

How did I miss this one Dennis?! Great little hot rod here, my favorite part is the flat bed in the back with the wooden slats for sides. Perfect! See you Friday! :)

Quoting Chris Phipson Yeah, you are going to rock in that dragster thing! Oh and I know you and your brother "devoured" magazines in your youth, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't "Cartoons"... ~ Chris.
Err, we also read "Reader's Digest" . . .

For as cool as this little bad boy is, what really makes it shine are the four red 2x6 tiles. They just set it off! Nicely done.
