A Nannantastic way to celebrate Mr. MOTD! This one is a personal favorite. Though I jest, I'm always glad to see Nannan's stuff on the homepage. We do need some fresh material for the script, so go build something woulda ya!

I just wanted to tell you that I noticed how you used two anakin starfighter tail wing stickers on the water tower. Really good idea, I always thought it would be a cool thing to use the stickers from sets.

Looking at the first picture, I thought: "Is this really LEGO?" And then I looked closer at the detail pictures and saw that it is really LEGO! ...So awesome! I´m speechless.

I'm blown away by this! This deserves MOTD more than any other so far. I almost didn't want to comment because I did not know what to say! But really man, you have an amazing talent with Legos! and that's rare because there are a lot of average builders on MOCpages. But there are very few advanced builders that own many uncommon pieces and a large amount in total. Anyways, amazing work!

I can't believe I haven't commented on this yet! This is one of the (or the) best creation(s) ever... simply magnificent. The veritable mightiest of all LEGO creations, this is one for the google-eyeing, the jaw-dropping, and the ovationing-ing. (Standing, of course.) I would comment on the details, but I think the list would stretch way down... almost to where my jaw is, perhaps. Let's just say that they're all perfect. And when I say that, I MEAN it. Another great (good, perfect, best) one!

What, Areetsa, no complaint about the "Uncreative" use of BrickArms in this MOC? I know how quick you are to insult those who do not fit in with your notions of what is worthy of your interest. Annoyance aside, I really must say that this is on par with the best creations out there. Where on earth do you get those trans light blue round pieces for the beam? And the mech is amazing as well as the UFO. I can't get over the buildings, though, they're the best part. The greenhouse is wonderful, and the other buildings have captured the essence of a top-security government research center. I could go on, but I think I'll just spend the time looking at the pictures again instead. -Freela

Here's to hoping you bring this baby to BrickCon in October as well. =) The reason I commented again though, was due to your background. What do you use? This is a massive creation and if I were to make something of this scale, I wouldn't know where to begin photographing! Sheets? Full white wall? Pure Photoshop?

How do you come up with such a great setting? This is much more creative than the sci-fi movies (even Star Wars!) that I've seen! The fortress, the little drones around it, the attacking mecha, the shield blocking the rocket... it's just perfect! I'm also really impressed by the fact that even though you didn't make it studless, you've put the studs in places where it doesn't bother me. Like the baseplates that you used on the sides. People should pay you money just to look at this, so awesome it is. ~M

You must work for Lego, to be able to have access to such rare parts in such quantities. I spent about an hour on brickshelf the other day staring at this and drooling. Just to let you know, I am very likely going to steal alot of your building tricks from this MOC and use them in my own. I may or may not give you credit, depending upon how jealous I feel of your awesome building talent.

I personally don't mind the lack of a story at all. I mean, it's just Lego. That said, this is some top-notch building. I really like that idea for the huge beam.

As has been pointed out elsewhere, it does seem a bit too clean and the minifigs too serene for a battle between a giant mech and a... whatever the cool UFO type thing is. Nonetheless, it remains a sumptuous visual spectacle.

I skimmed through the comments and agreed with one of them that it looks a lot smaller in the thumbnails, then when I clicked on them, I was able to start getting a sense of the magnitude of this build. Impressed? no, not a big enough word... Floored? nope, still not big enough. Amazing; I just like the whole thing, from the little details such as doors, generators, fans etc to the popup turrets, flying saucer and mecha. Looks like a nightmare to build; I wouldn't be surprised to discover than the mecha fell over at least once, bringing the laser with it. Also, I too thought it was much smaller than it was, until I took a close look at the mecha thing. I wasn't aware Lego MADE some of those parts in those colours, though; exafarce robohands in transorange? Certainly uncommon.

Holy crap, the level of detail and thought put into this is amazing. From the cargo crane, random barrels, and the design of the robot and alien ship-thing, to it's overall concept it's just staggering. My hat is off to you for this amazing diorama, and for being a great builder in general.

So many awesome details! Like where the missle from the mech explodes and reaveals some of the UFO's sheild! Then there's those turrets that pop out of the tiles! I could go on. Be-lowne a-way is what I am. This is pictura poesis meaning you do not need to describe in countless words the setting, the reason, the purpose or whatever. I rarely read descriptions of mocs anyway. This is Class A building. I think I have just built my last giant moc. Using this as an inspiration for my next micro city!

In regards to what it is, it's a diorama depicting an outerworldly guardian blasting through an invading mecha, set place in an urban industrial compound with a hint of reality breakdown. I know I need to do a better job with describing my creations, and this time I don't even have a story (because I couldn't think of one dark enough!)

I don't know Andrew as well, so maybe I'm being biased, but IMAO this one gets the win. Masterful handling of all the fundementals: color work, texture, parts usage, compositiion, concept, and presentation. It's a rare thing when I spend all my morning computer time on one build, but then this is a rare kind of MOC. Brilliant work, Nannan. Brilliant.

Despite the fact that I only had a few minutes to check Mocpages, I felt that I absolutely had to go through and click every photo to see the beautiful details (and maybe figure out just what on Earth was happening in the MOC). I like the contrast between the blocky cityscape and the floating... thing. And I still remember the moment when I saw the little people on the diorama and went "Holy %#$@$^$@#%!, this thing's MINIFIG SCALE!" Awesome work.

That's a rather large beam of something. Unless this is frozen for a quintillionth of a second, then it can't be a particle beam or laser, so I'm stumped as to what this is.
