a model of the MP7 PDW, with 10 round RBG mech, folding foregrip and stock, and removable magazine
About this creation
this is something that i have been thinking of building for a while, but havent made because i couldnt think of a way to fit all the parts in - but now, i have solved that problem, and i present to you: the HK MP7 PDW RBG!!
this gun is classed as a Personal Defense Weapon. it is the sort of gun that will be issued to non-combatants - ie people who would not normally fight, eg truck/tank drivers. because of this, the gun needs to be easy to use, compact, and accurate in the hands of an unexperienced shooter. NATO previously issued a normal smg to these people, but ordinary 9mm rounds proved ineffective against the body armour that some of the opposition wore. because of this, NATO decided that a new round was needed, and invented the class PDW - a small, easy to use weapon, effective against body armour. the P90 was the first weapon to enter the 'competition', with its scaled carbine round, and it seemed that no-one else would enter, until HK entered the MP7. this also uses a round that seems to be a scaled down carbine round, but it is 4.3mm instead of the P90s 5.7mm round. no decision has yet been made as to which gun will officially be used, and so it is left to the individual countries/forces to decide.
having already made a P90, i decided to go for the MP7. having now made both, i think i prefer the MP7.
my gun is an RBG, with a semi-auto capacity of about 10 rounds. the small cap is because the bands are stretched longer than normal, and i needed a very compact mechanism so that i could fit the telescoping stock in, so consequently the mech isnt one of my strongest. it is still a very good one, though.
the gun features:
telescoping stock (with lock - open and closed)
folding foregrip (with lock - locks open only)
removable magazine - i made a 40 round and a 20 round (they dont actually do anything)
10 round capacity semi auto RBG mechanism
flash hider (for looks)
fake RIS rails on the sides (also for looks only)
good aesthetics
you probably didnt read any of that, did you? ;)

 where the bands hook at the front
 looking down the 'sights' - i couldnt make any real ones, as the RBs would have hit them.

It looks nice, but I think it does not reach the "jack streat" level. It's hard to explain why. I think it is the looks, but I'm not sure..... Anyway I just think that your p90 was better. The stock however is probaly the best I've ever seen, but the stock of the real mp7 has 3 positions. With a look at your stock, it should be easy to put that in.
Do you have some pictures of the mechanism???
Well, I'll rate 4/5 because it's still a very nice weapon. Hopefully your next creation will be such one as you always made.
(btw can you take a look at my mp7. It isn't as nice as yours but I'm pretty proud of it) |

Thats very great! normally i don`t like rbg`s but this one is very good, also because of the retractable stock and the foldable forgrip

As usually, you've made a fantastic gun. But the capacity of 10 round dissapoints me a bit, I expected like 15-20 rounds, as usually on your models. But still, a very nice weapon, you're done a great job, because it's very hard to make a REALISTIC gun that SHOOTS. Those two are hard to combine, but you can always combine it. So that's why I like this gun so much. So, very well done, 5/5! But I request you to make a Colt M1911a1, or a Sig Sauer P220? Please? |
