My way of celebrating my first anniversary of joining here with one of my favorite guns; the Sturmgewehr-44!
About this creation
Exactly one year ago, I posted my Grunt, the evening after signing up. w00t 4 me!!!1
I don't know why I like this gun so much. It was only used for the last two years of WWII, but if it was used earlier, the Axis probably would have had a better chance of winning. Its firing rate isn't too good, but its accuracy and range are. It was a breakthrough at the time; a cross between an automatic rifle and submachine gun.
The handle, the stock, and the barrel are all black. The only other color pieces are grey technic pieces.
By removing the stock, barrel, and magazine, it turns into a full-auto pistol. Kinda like the UZI.
The magazine has a very high capacity. Instead of a tri-blade fan, it's two L-shaped pieces on the same axel as an 8-tooth gear, which spins a 24-tooth gear, which spins a 40-tooth gear. Every time you pull the trigger, the 40-tooth gear moves up a little over one tooth, which roughly translates to 30 shots, like the real StG-44.
The magazine locks like my MP-40, but is curved. How I achieved this is simple: Put 2 6x2 bricks and 2 6x2 plates together. Repeat a few times. Put a 1x2 plate on the top left end of the blocks and put them together. Your result should look like this.
The sights were hard to get right, but I saw an old tire. It was a nice size for this, altough I couldn't find a stick for it. It's good enough, right?
The stock is a lot bigger than it looks. It was the only hard part of the gun because I couldn't find the pieces. Eventually I found them all.
The handle is a similar design to my Glock 17, yet very different. It is less fragile, and a little easier to replicate.
OMG I R A DIRTY NAZI!!!!11 Not really. I could have been holding this with both hands, but my tripod snapped. Now I need a new one... :(
The gun looks good but the area where the barrel attaches needs to be represented better. Also, the clip looks way to big for a gun that size. If you could change those two things I would give you a 5.
