This little fighter was built for the Voidfighter contest at FBTB forums. I wanted the wings to have a greater angle between them than the 90 degrees that I ended up with, but I couldn't fit them the way I had hoped. Originally I built a much larger and much cooler wing, but it would have been far to big for the body. I was also quite dissatisfied with the landing gear, but by that point I was rather tired of it, so I went with what I had.
The red antennas are not supposed to be guns. According the the description of the craft for the contest its guns come from lumpy protrusions on the body. I just needed some red to spruce up the boring gray wings. And long sensor-antenna thingies are cool anyway.
Here's a shot of the pilot plugged into the ship. There was supposed to be some "neural interface" that plugged into the helmet. I was surprised I could get one to fit in that tight canopy
Wow... it's not like I imagined the Voidfighter, that's for sure... but it certainly looks awesome! I love the shape of the wings. And though the red makes me think it looks less Imperial, I can't help but love red (my fav. color). Sweet, sweet creation.
