Have you powered a train with it yet? And can you run it in tandem with your emerald night or do you run in to problems with gearing. i had a look at the powered technic train you based your's on and his floating middle axle could have been removed and replaced with a slotted tech pin on each side, this would allow the centre wheels to rotate independent of each other. Just a thought.If gearing isn't an issue perhaps this would be good for a sleeping car / baggage car for the emerald night/flying scotsman.

It looks like an XL motor would fit in there. It would be a nice booster for a long train or you could dead-head locomotives with it. I have a caboose with a 9v motor in it. Good idea!
