G1 Soundwave Transformer
About this creation
Here is my Lego interpretation of one of the coolest G1 Transformers ever: Soundwave and of course he includes his sidekick Laserbeak. I kept this one simple because the transformation is rather simple. But its a cool addition to my growing minions of Lego G1 Transformer models and he is pretty much to scale with all of my previous models.
UPDATES: MAR 2010 I created two more tapes Rumble or Frenzy depends if you call the toy or cartoon canon and Ravage. Both fit individually into Soundwave's chest. Both have detachable accessories.

Upgrade for this model coming up soon and pre-jetfire ie Macross on its way too, Hound is under construction. Insecticons and Brawn?... there are certainly a lot of transformers still for me to build!

on the original toy both shoulder cannon and rifle become the batteries for the tape player.

actually the original Rumble toy was red and Frenzy was blue but in the cartoon Rumble was blue and Frenzy red! Much controversy has insued since pertaining to what their actual colours should be!

thanks! actually the upper legs are quite sturdy and the tapes like the original G1 toys need their accesories removed for storage in Soundwave's chest. This was one of my first legoformers that I built a few years ago its pretty good but my techniques have improved since then!

Even with the speakers it is still an awesome build. Not 100% sure about ravage's alt mode but for the scale I love all of the spy cassettes robot forms. My personal favourite has to be laserbeak.
Any chance of you attempting ratbat? |

chin is a dark blue attic piece. I think I got it from an exoforce set it was a shoulder pad or something. Pick a brick has this piece in black and possibly grey.

It would have been awesome enough just to build a transforming Soundwave, but to have a transforming laserbeak also that actually fits inside him is beyond words. |
