The Reason For The Three-Day Weekend
Dedicated to the memory of Frederick Price and Jacob "Jack" Van Wyk, both of whom served our nation in battle and have gone on to answer the final roll call.
About this creation

Both of my grandfathers served in World War II, and I offer a final salute in their honor for Memorial Day.

Fred Price was a combat infantryman who went ashore in France on D+1 and survived the Battle of the Bulge. Jack Van Wyk served aboard the U.S.S. Pennsylvania in the Pacific, surviving the horrors of kamikazee attacks off Okinawa. Both men are gone, but not forgotten.

Both of my grandfathers served, too. One was an infantryman and the other was an airplane mechanic. To this day, they are both still alive.

...im not American but i believe that on memorial day, everyone who even set foot in a war torn street and took a bullet or a wound or even lost a friend, should be declared a HERO because over everyones lifetime everyone is affected by the endless monster that is war.
