Gaian Scout Ship: The Spectre (WIP)
The first thing you may thing when you see this MOC is: Is this another Millennium Falcon? And you are partly right. My intent here was to take the instructions for the minifig scale Falcon, second version, and build something entirely different but still using those instructions and that design. Here we go: a scout class science vessel. You may also notice that if this ship had nacelles, it would look like something from Star Trek. Yep, I am going to put nacelles on it, and try to make it look like a miniature Miranda class starship. This is a work in progress, and I am less than halfway through.
About this creation

Another crew shot, standing in front of the lowered ramp and below the port side docking collar.

Just an overall shot of construction so far.

Here we see the forward section of the ship, which consists of crew lounge, bathroom port side, and storage locker starboard. We can see a sink, small table, chairs, kitchenette.

The aft portion of the ship contains the crew quarters, the 'hub' which doubles as a primary hold, a small science lab, engineering, airlock, and the bridge is dead center to the ship.

I had a lot of trouble trying to get hinge bricks, smooth or click, to work at just the right angle for me with this MOC. They did not give me a consistent corridor, but instead gave a Willy Wonka corridor that grew narrower as you progressed down its length. Using these modified bricks worked, and gave a consistent corridor at the appropriate angle to the bridge. Of course, I could not use slope pieces to spice it up... And, the other side of this was is kind of ugly. I am thinking of throwing some pipes to make it look more utilitarian.

And here we see the port side corridor leading to the boarding ramp, and to the port side docking collar.

Quoting William H. Nice job on it. I love the way that you completely redone the front part of the ship while your left the back relatively unchanged. I love the hallways and all of the rooms. You are smart to take apart LEGO's Falcon and rebuild it into a MOC. (LEGO's Millennium Falcon is undersized, unaccurate interior, and the cockpit is so DUMB!) I also like the engine on the back and the greeblies. Also, can you check out my New Era comic???
The Lego Falcon may be simplistic and not to perfection, but I like to think of it a blank slate full of potential for modification. There is so much that can be done with that set, and that is the reason why I enjoy it so much. If you want to really see someone who took that set and just went nuts with it and made it into something really awesome using great building skill and design, then go to Brickshelf, and search for member: flail. And check out his MOD, Millennium Falcon 3.0

Really great job. The whole shape looks perfect and uncluttered. I love all of the little rooms and compartments in the interior, as well as the "Falcon" portion of the ship. Nice job on the the engine and the greeblies. You made a wise choice to transform your Falcon into your own creation. I absolutely hate LEGO's Millennium Falcon (it's entirely out of scale and the interior is rubbish). That why I made a custom falcon

I like the concept (shape of the ship) and the detail you have put into the greebles. I also like the attention you have put into the internal layout of the vessel. I look forward to seeing the finished version!

Quoting Rock n' Roll Minifig great ship but it would look better if the back was the front.
Wow you're fast, I posted this five minutes ago. And yes, I got the description under the wrong picture. The front is the 'saucer' section. The crew are standing in front of the ship in the very first picture. Okay, its fixed now.
