Airborne Space Pirates with a 'death before dishonor' attitude and highly volatile equipment. Kaboom!
About this creation
Like all my Metroid mocs, this is neither an exact replication nor is it intended to be.
It's immediately obvious to anyone who's played Metroid Prime what it is and how it behaves, at a glance.
Not a precise replication, no, but close enough to be recognizable.

For those of you who have not played Metroid Prime, go out and buy it. Immediately.
If you haven't got the money, I'll give you a rough rundown on Flying Pirate behavior.
They are fast, they tend to move around a lot, always in the air.
They have pretty nasty missiles, which they use often.
In addition, they are rather tough and make suicide strikes when mortally wounded.

I'm not sure if Flying Pirates have the same retractable energy scythes as the other pirate types, because I can't really get close enough to one to see more than the shape of his backpack.
I'm not sure if they have green flames on their jetpacks, but I'd probably take creative liberties anyway.
I've only got one red bush, you know.

Anyway, as usual, comment space is for rent below, and it's not very costly.
You know, it wouldn't kill you to lease a bit.

It certainly does remind me of Prime. Ah good times with the plasma beam. Bad times with the fission metroids *shudder*. |

Wow! Great job! And a little tip for taking these buggers down, use the ice beam so they're frozen then shoot them with a missile.
Yes, but the Ice Beam is slow moving; jumping from side-to-side and blasting away with missiles or charged Wave Beam shots is more practical. |

You've been majorly quiet lately. You're up to something, aren't you? Something good?
Not specifically, procrastinating mostly. Probably going to force myself to photograph some unposted mocs soon, though, before the new battletech game arrives and lego goes on the backburner for a week or two. Even worse, the copy of Prime 2: Echoes I bought is going to ensure that if the Citytech pack doesn't take up time, lego will be on the burner-at-the-back for a time. Sorry. *EDIT* Scratch that, I've suddenly started making a sigfigkart for El Laxante, the high fibre superhero. |

Nice work! Not to far from the original post without the jetpack. I really like how you use the plant pieces for the thrusting effect. Overall, excellent work! Also, would you mind giving me some advice on a MOC in-the-works? The photos are on Flickr and I'll give you a link if need be. If not, then it's all good.
Well, I'm honored that you'd think me capable of giving advice- but I can't access flickr. ISP inbuilt keep-the-4chan/triple-x-stuff-away system. Brickshelf works fine, though. |

i should make a metroid MOC, but alas, i have a shortage of parts that stems directly from me being unable to disassemble any of my larger MOCs. i look forward to seeing norfair in lego form! |

flight trooper=cannon fodder, any upcoming metroid-MOCs?
Not to my knowledge. Basically, I'm accumulating parts (at a rather slow rate) for a planned Norfair bignette. |
