This is my guided missile frigate which I have named Locust. As it is a British ship I've given her the Royal Navy prefix of 'Her Majesty's Ship'. It is based on modern warship design principles to scale with my other ship models. The scale is that as set by the 10152 Maersk Sealand set (1:120). It is a waterline model in light grey.
I designed the Locust quite a while ago but did not have the parts available or the time free for a long while. It was after refitting the Hermione that I looked again at Locust and I initiated a partial redesign to remove parts I didnít have or were expensive to procure.
Locust is the smallest of my big ships at 70x10studs (length and beam), compared to Delphi which is 108x16. Warships tend to be narrow vessels and this enabled me to build a much stronger hull.
Note to 'optional': The parts used in this and all my MOCs are 100% Lego. Get it right!
Profile view. The armament is clear here: twin main gun turret, twin quad ship-to-ship missile (SSM) launchers, two automatic canon, one close-in-weapons-system with gatling gun (CIWS like the Vulcan Phalanx) and the hangar for an anti-submarine helicopter
The only modification Iíve made to her since construction has been to separate her into two halves and rebuild with a Technic brick and Technic pin joining system. This enabled her to break into two sections for transport; such as to the Brickish Association 2005 AGM (which I travelled to on the train).
