Kharakian Raiders are planning a raid on the MEGAlodus mining site. Three of the five remaining scouts sent out by MEGAlodus are setting up a defense of the site so that the corporation can continue to operate on the planet Baunmaald.
About this creation
Note: a couple of guns are from www.thelittlearmsshop.com
Another Note: The name of the Kharakian Raiders is a tribute to Homeworld, a PC game I've played for many years. There was a desert planet named Kharak, and well Baunmaald is a a sandy ice planet, for most of it. Let's all hope to heaven above there is a Homeworld 3, however unlikely.

After the entire mining crew had left the mining site, Captain Ra knew he and his team had to get ready to drive away the Kharakian Raiders. During the evacutation the Kharakian Raiders were gathered together in the snowy desert of Baunmaald.

While they were gathered, they were talking about strategy to attack the mining site. They all knew about the scouts, because they were the five left after the first attack on a MEGAlodus crew, which meant they had to be careful about how they went about the raid.

Kharakian Raid Leader: Listen crew, iz time we git ourselves some loot. Boss ed be mighta happy iffen we return with a lot of them rubas.

Kharakian Raider: (monotone) The enemy is well trained and will put up quite a resistance to our raid.

Kharakian Raider 2: An idea leada! We could build ourselves a wall to protect against firearms so that we may get close to the enemy! From the last attack, we know they are very accurate, but we haven't tested their saber skills!

Kharakian Raid Leader: Iz too darn riska to run acroz thiz desert an' try an' shootem on foot. I am in agreemunt with ya.

Meanwhile back at the mining site, Captain Ra's Lieutenants listen to him brief them on the situation.

Captain Ra: Okay men, we all know what we are up against. Poorly trained desert folk are no match for us. Remember that we only lost our colleagues because of a trip mine that we didn't pick up on radar.

Lieutenant Anubis: Their attack will be weak, but again, we are outnumbered, but not by that great of a ratio this time. It shouldn't be completely necessary to kill them all, just drive them off. Once they know we are a formidable force, they won't come back to attack us anymore for a month or two.

Captain Ra: Hmm, that is a very good observation. Okay, our goal is to take a few down and at minimum drive them away from here. Hopefully we can take out enough to weaken their numbers significantly.

Captain Ra: So Lieutenant Anubis, I want you to cover the right side of the site. Lieutenant Sobek I want you to follow me and cover any weaknesses of my view.

Captain Ra and Lt. Sobek began to climb the mining site and get into position.

Finally Captain Ra and Lt. Sobek found a suitable place focused towards the path the Raiders will most likely come down.

Meanwhile Lt. Anubis was getting into position on the right side of the site.

Lt. Anubis peeked around the walls of the site and noticed something in the distance.

He decided to pull his body back against the walls just in case it was the enemy, and if it was, who knows whether they have long range weapons.

Captain Ra also noticed the a faint object in the distance and he soon figured out what it was as it got closer.

The Kharakian Raiders were approaching behind a wall designed to protect the entire group.

As they approached a solar flare from a nearby sun lit the planet with an eerie glow.

Captain Ra looked for an opportunity to fire upon the raiders approaching.

But he had to dive out of the way of incoming blasts when one of the raiders popped out from behind the mobile wall.

Before the defenders knew it, one of the raiders broke away from the group and started to sprint towards the site.

Captain Ra: One raider on the left coming fast.

Lt. Sobek: Am on it.

Lt. Sobek rounded the corner and took aim. It only took him one well place shot.

The raider fell without a sound in the icy sand.

Captain Ra saw another raider come out from the wall.

Captain Ra: Sobek get back!

Lt. Sobek had to dive out of the way as bullets flew by where he was a moment before.

Lt. Anubis stepped from his hiding spot and fired a couple shots at the enemy, but they soon fired back.

Lt. Anubis dropped back to his spot and finally realized the pain he had in his right arm. A bullet had grazed him during his guerrilla attack. He sneered at his stupidity and sat there for a moment, a moment he regretted.

Captain Ra saw Lt. Anubis had dropped back without holding his position and decided to suppress the enemy with a round from his high powered rifle.

While Captain Ra was reloading, another solar flare lit the sky up in its yellowish glare. A glare that helped hide one of the Kharakian raiders while he ran towards the site.

The flare ended as soon as it started. Captain Ra noticed the incoming raider and warned Lt. Anubis.

Captain Ra: Anubis you have one coming on your side, fast!

Lt. Anubis drew his weapon to blast the incoming raider but the raider had his shotgun aimed right at him.

Out of nowhere Captain Ra tackled the raider with a leap from the top of the site.

Captain Ra had the raider pinned.

But the raider broke his pin and turned the tables.

Lt. Anubis dove in to stop the saber from cutting Captain Ra in two.

And in the same motion of blocking the strike Lt. Anubis struck at the raider with his suit, aiding the impact of his fist.

The other raiders, seeing the conflict ensuing between two MEGAlodus scouts and one raider, decided to leave the wall and sneak behind the enemy and ambush them from there.

Back on the other side of the site, Lt. Anubis lunged towards the downed raider but was flipped over with a cunning move.

Captain Ra had gotten back to his feet and challenged the raider.

Awaiting his chance to decimate his foe in saber combat, the raider took the challenge and charged Captain Ra.

Captain Ra blocked the first strike with a plan in mind.

As soon as their swords met Captain Ra quickly threw his hand down upon the hilt of the enemies' saber.

Captain Ra did not stop after he had disarmed the enemy because he had seen Lt. Anubis coming to his aid, so he kept running after he had both swords.

The MEGAlodus scouts had a prisoner.

On the other side of the site, the Kharakian Raid Leader had broken away from the other raiders. It must have been the adrenaline, or the sheer greed he had to get his hands on the rubies that allowed him to run faster than the rest of his raiding party.

But he didn't see Lt. Sobek hiding behind the rock wall. Lt. Sobek swung down hard towards the barrel of the shotgun in front of him.

He disarmed the Kharakian Raid Leader.

And threw the butt of his pistol up into the chin of his enemy knocking him backward with amazing force.

The Kharakian Raid Leader was unconscious before he even hit the ground.

Using the body of the Kharakian Raid Leader, Lt. Sobek warned the other raiders to stop immediately.

Or their colleague dies.

To the raiders, the life of their leader meant something. If it had been any other raider, they would have opened fire.

Captain Ra and Lt. Anubis brought their prisoner out too showing that the raiders had lost.

Captain Ra told the remaining raiders to walk back into the desert they came from until they cannot see the mining site anymore.

While the remaining raiders walked away, Captain Ra knew they had contacted their leaders, leaders above the raiding parties they sent out. Because the unconscious individual was a high ranking raider, the raiders with similar ranks or ranks above him would come to pick him up.

And sure enough, about two hours later, a speeder came zooming in from the desert.

With the speeder was a stretcher hooked onto the back and three raiders. Captain Ra recognized one of the raiders from a list of dangerous individuals released by MEGAlodus every month.

Captain Ra was up in the rocks again, his scope trained on the highest ranking raider at all times.

Lt. Sobek held his gun steady, constantly trained at the head of the downed raider. Two of the recently arrived raiders brought the stretcher close to their colleague. Before they loaded the raider onto the stretcher, Lt. Sobek talked to the raiding leaders about an agreement.

Lt. Sobek: For his life, you will leave us to mine on this planet in peace. If you so much as approach us again, we not hesitate to take any of your raiders out.

Kharakian Commander: So be it.

The raid leader was loaded onto the stretcher by his superiors.

They hitched the stretcher back up and started the engines.

Behind the rocks Lt. Anubis had their captive by gunpoint. Having his communicator knocked out earlier by Lt. Anubis, the prisoner had no way of letting his group know where he was.

Captain Ra watched as the raider sped away into the desert.

Captain Ra: This is Captain Ra to Foreman, the threat has been eliminated. One prisoner taken and one hostage exchanged for ransom. We shouldn't see them for a while, but we will keep our eyes open and stay on alert at all times. I'll see you in the morning.
