Tortuga
The famous pirate haven from Pirates of the Caribbean, the lair of debauchery, every pirate's one true love: TORTUGA.
About this creation
The famous pirate haven from Pirates of the Caribbean; a sequel to my Black Pearl MOC from January. Took two days to build. Here are some pictures as well as a few more of the Pearl.

The entire structure is built on an area of 2 3/4 baseplates, and is sturdy enough to be lifted with one hand without falling apart. Buildings include a trading post, blacksmith, tavern, customs office and harbor defense fortress. I really worked to give it an organic, 3-dimensional feel. As you can see there are two dominant terrain features: the central mountain and the "Rock of Gibraltar" on which the fortress is built. This beast took all the BURPs I have. One of my favorite features is the pirate cave underneath the central mountain, accessible two ways: either underneath the bridge where the "Keep Out" sign is ominously posted, or through a trap door in the tavern.

Of course, although I displayed it under Royal Marines/Navy control, this is the perfect site for a fierce battle and an absolute pit of lawlessness should her majesty's troops be expelled...ahoy! there's a sail on the horizon! A black sail!

I think this was never intended as an accurate MOC, face it, its LEGO, everything isn't going to be correct down to the last brick. Anyways, GREAT moc. 5/5

Great one- almost outrageous that this one haven't got any comments yet- i like the whole build but maybe there are little too much soldiers there- so there are no place for pirates- of course buccaneers and privateers who rob the spanish are welcome to british and French ports.... Shack on right reminds me of Tia Dalma's house in Potc which is of course originally from start of th Potc-ride...
