New Dwarf Mine post
As the dwarves cut into the mountain, the deposits of minerals went dry. They shipped out a detachment to start a new mining operation, which is even more lush with gold, silver and platinum, Jewels and ingots than their first strong hold.
About this creation
I scrapped my previous dwarf fortress so I could collect all my grey bricks together. I liked that creation a lot, but it did indeed have a wacky color scheme. Also it was a very "busy" set, in the sense that there were a lot of features and many little things going on. Perhaps too many things going on.
I have redone the scene and incorporated the one feature I liked the most from that creation.
The Mine shaft. I switched up a few things, and coordinated the BURPs a bit better, so the colors matched a bit more.
I tried a few techniques with rock formations as well, but I decided I'm really going to have to just suck it up and buy a bunch of dark grey bricks in many shapes for that to look any good.
Here we see the dwarfs sifting and hacking through stone to get to the ever bountiful gold deposits. Along the way they find gems and nuggets.
