A working SPAS 12 pump action shotgun. Loads from an 8-brick under-barrel magazine, and has a folding stock
About this creation
Well, here is another SPAS 12. Don't bother to look at my other one, its rubbish.
On the other hand, this one is great!
It is all black; it actually looks like the real thing (I didn't use a scaled template for my other one), and its VERY powerful - more powerful than my 416, which up until now was my most powerful gun.
This gun features:
-working pump action mechanism
-loads from an 8-brick under-barrel magazine (like the real thing)
-max capacity: 8+1 bricks (8 in magazine, one in chamber)
-my most powerful gun
-accurate
-full size
-all black
-2x 4-brick spare cartridge clips, one on either side
-folding stock (locks closed, and sort of locks open)
-very reliable
-very easy to use - load, pump and shoot

The Franchi SPAS 12 (Special Purpose Assault Shotgun) is by far my favourite shotgun. Especially designed for combat, instead of being a re-modelled sporting shotgun, this gun is devastating in CQB, and can fire a range of loads, in semi-auto or pump action.
Used by the terminator in the film, the terminator!!
My gun is also pretty devastating, but instead of firing 12-gauge cartridges, mine is loaded with 4x1 slugs (bricks). The gun is loaded brick by brick by inserting them into the magazine via loading port in front of the trigger guard.
A shotgun mech is extremely difficult to make, and mine took about half a day to make, so that was a looooong time! Basically when you pump the shotgun, the 'hammer' (an RB with a wheel on the end) is pulled back, and when you reach the end of the pumps travel, a lever is pushed down, pushing the magazine 'door' down. A brick comes out of the magazine, pushed by he magazine spring, and settles in this lever. When you push the pump forward again, this lever is raised up again, and the brick gets pushed off the lever by the hammer. It then gets locked by the trigger mech, and is released when you pull the trigger.

 pistol grip, trigger set-up, and a 4-brick spare brick holder. There's one on the other side as well, giving you a total of 8 extra bullets. Just make sure you remember where they all end up!

 mech with pump in rear position. the brick that was in the magazine is now on the lever, ready to be moved up into the chamber
 the gun after full pump cycle. Brick is loaded in chamber, ready to be fired.

 under-barrel magazine, loaded with 8 bricks
 and one last look at the shotgun

I tried and failed at a shotgun attempt I REALLY like this gun and was wondering if u would post instructions for Christmas that would make it the best Christmas many lego fans have had in a while this lego shotgun is all I can think about. I have tried ( and failed) to complete the trigger mech to the point that it would hold the brick in place but it is flimsy and breaks. i have also taken a look at your FAMAS G1 (since it is closed bolt) and figured out the trigger mech. I still unsuccessfully have made a trigger mech. it would be nice if you cold help!! (250th comment) |

This is the best LEGO gun I've seen. I've seen prettier, it's true, and I've seen more accurate ones, and I've seen bigger ones. I have not yet seen one that fired like a real one, though. That alone makes this superior to other LEGO guns. |

Absolutely superb. When I looked down the comments list, I saw that everybody asked for instructions, and you're probably thinking that I am going to. Of course I am, but everybody asked for you to send the instructions to them individually. I think that you should create instructions exactly like you did with your beautiful HK 416; LDD link, instructions not included in LDD, the video link... the whole nine yards. Hi,
I have a question about your triggering mechanism. I understand the basic principal of your mechanism design, and I must say its quite brilliant, ingenuous to say the least. But the one thing I can't see is the triggering mechanism. Could you describe it for me?

wow cant even think of anything for you to correct exept maybe make it shot multiple brics at once and do rubberbands come out when you shoot it i am currently working on a pump action that does shoot multiples and not rubber bands but am not done yet and it loads from the top. i am not modleing it after a real gun though cause i dont want to make a really cool gun that doesnt look like the real so people hate it you are modeling it after one and got it perfect. for that i complement you |

That's the most amazing thing I've ever seen. If you could get more bricks to make more of these, you could probably make a hefty sum of cash from selling them. I'm sure some people here would buy them, because I know I would buy one. |

Nevermind my previous comment regarding the mech, i figured it out, and now have a full working replica of your gun ^^. One more question though, i noticed in your video, the mech is different than in your pictures on the ramp that takes the bricks out of the magazine, why is that? |

I must say I am very fond of shotguns but this is truly exceptional! this is magnificent and very realistic! The mechanism looks very complex and you did it in 2 days:O that's just incredible! I would be very happy if you could make some instructions. And if you don't have the time for the whole gun, could you make an instruction manual for the mechanism so I could build the firing part and build the exterior after my own imagination?

unnecessarily complicated for the power it gives, and the size and density of the round it fires, but nonetheless good, especially the non gravity underbarrel magazine and the round loading lever, which particularly liked. |

its basically the same as on my other guns, only more compact. there is only one big lever, on the left side, because the mech isnt symmetrical. |
