An off/on enemy/friend of the X-Men, Erik Magnus Lensherr is the self-proclaimed "Master of Magnetism." After meeting Charles Xavier in the Holocaust and sharing a beautiful friendship with him, they had a terrible falling-out which left Xavier paralyzed. While both campaigning for mutant rights, Xavier prefers to live in peace with humans, while Magneto is convinced that mutants must overthrow the human status quo.
