Hi, welcome to my most recent MOC display: Dept of Taxation. It is a tribute to my former state job. I thought it would be fun to make a medeival display about it. We really weren't mean or greedy by the way... There is a level of exaggeration, enjoy!
About this creation
The back of the village features a fortified wall for protection.
A look at the entrance.
Quick take the chest into the treasure room!
Archers view of the village
Knights bedroom
Another look
Treasure room!
A high look view at the buildings in the village
The Inn at the village with two bedrooms
Looking for two beds, or ummm one bed will be fine.
A man brings his last cow in hope that he my sell it to pay off the tax fees.
A great potion maker, which sells his potions and antidotes from time to time.
His bedroom upstairs.
And anther look
Boy do they look angry! I hope they don't revolt!
Peasants are being gathered to pay their annual church tax fees. In the section I worked, it was considered sales tax. As you can see from the look on their faces they are pretty upset by the rise in church taxes
Front view of the Department, villagers from all of Essex are being gathered to pay their taxes.
A greedy tax collector takes an old mans life savings
The second floor of the Department features ALOT OF RETURNED MAIL that needs to be processed quickly and accurately.
Also there are some utensils used by the dept workers, including charts, location or county zones maps to calculate accurate county/location taxes. The village of Essex had it a little bad when it came to tax rates by locations.
A local grocery store awaits customers.
The second floor of the grocery store includes a nice bedroom for the owners.
The order of the pictures is in random order so there is no exact order of events from these pictures. If you would like to view the full brickshelf forder you may:

Overall this display took about 3 months to complete with many orders on bricklink. Please let me know what you think about this creation! Be on the look out for my new MOCS.
Thanks,
Dan G

Very creative! I love the idea you had on taxation and how you used it! The detail in the whole creation is amazing, the minifigs are well positioned, the colours were excellently used and the buildings are amazing. One of the best Lego Castle creations I've ever seen. 5/5 because I can't give you more. |
