This is where Ancient stem cells get cloned to produce BioMech components... And more.
About this creation
The Archeogenis Bio-Frame Research Facility is located in the MAOX installation at the Terra Firma Complex (It's the little sqare building built sideways near the tall antenna). This is the same installation the Mysterion Walker previously attacked.
This is the main Spawning Pit. Here the cells are cloned from original fragments of the Ancients' original Brain Cores.
Then, nanites controlled by the "Overseer" device force the cells' structure and organization...
... conditioning their growth into the desired form and function.
In this case, a generic dark grey limb. Colors are genetically determined, and can't be changed after production. Plus, paint of any kind does not stick on this material.
Parts are then transported by a service monorail to the engineering section to be assembled.
The WCD-01 performing this function is actually a small BioMech itself.
WCD stands for Wierd Crane Device.
The second rail leads to the medlab, and is used for experiments in human-Ancient hybrids.
Here we see a "patient" brought to the Pit on the bio-bed.
He is appropriately sedated to avoid trouble. He's not exactly what you'd call a "volunteer".
The WCD-01 transfer the patient from the bio-bed to the Pit.
It looks much more civilized than just dump him there...
He is gently immersed in the alien stem cells...
And left to the gentle care of the Overseer and the nanites. This process takes several weeks.
But it looks like it works! Oh my, somebody woke up on the wrong side of the Pit, today!
Power on! Dr. Lentz might experiment his success firsthand!
Something isn't right... the subject looks suddendly to be in pain.
He is losing control over the Core Cells in his nervous system...
The data revealed that the loss of control caused the Core Cells to crystallize inside the brain, attempting to form a Brain-Core. The use of random specimens is abandoned after a few more failures.
A few months later, Dr. Lentz is ready to proceed with a new attempt.
This time the subject is a highly trained, seasoned MAOX Sergeant. He has been informed that loss of control is potentially lethal, and advised to make best use of his discipline and judgement.
The procedure on Sgt Vincent looks like a success.
Although keeping a cool head under the circumstances is not easy, Sgt Vincent seems to succeed in full.
The Sergeant feels confident enough to satisfy Dr. Lentz's curiosity and make a little test on the spot. A blast door is destroyed. Yes, just out of the pic. It's true... Trust me!
Despite the high mortality rate caused by loss of temper (Sgt Victor will fall to it within 6 weeks, quarreling for a parking spot), Psi-Forces are now a reality for MAOX.
This was my 1st real vig, and it features my 1st micro layout (I made it all black so you can't see well how cr@ppy it really is :p), I hope you like it and will comment :)
just a thought i had, what would happen if you gave a hardsuit the same treatment that you gave the phi-op? i think that it might form a sort of brain in the core where the minifig would hypothetically go and become a sort of robot. if you told the machine to make a more complicated central nervous system you might be able to make a solder that would to take advanced orders and work on its own initiative when things don't go according to plan. it might also obtain the ability to regenerate from the stem sells.
wow thats a lot of writing..
Very good design and idea. I love the WCD =) And the minifigs and their expressions are cool too! Btw, I also made some non-Bionicle MOC's, like this: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/129938
Please check them out =)
Quoting Berial .
Really nice Yuri...i like the history and everything, but my favorite part of this is the lab!Man,i really would like to now what you think about my newest MOC,check him out when you can.
