Fireplace
An experiment to test LEGO's new EXO-Force light brick.
About this creation
This is a work in progress, proof of concept MOC fireplace I built to test the effectiveness of LEGO's new light brick found in the new EXO-Force product line. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it works.

My next goal is to add a on/off feature using technic gears, with a switch on the face of the fireplace.

The camera didn't pick up just how bright the light is, but you get the general idea.

Another view. I placed trans-red and trans-orange bricks in front of the light-brick's LED to simulate fire. Since the LED is red, though, everything looks red (even transparent green, had I used it).

A view of the back of the fireplace, where the on/off switch will eventually be built. The EXO-Force light brick only lights when the button is held down, so an on/off switch will be necessary if it is to be buried deep inside a MOC.

Here's a shot of the fireplace with all the lights in the room off. This really illustrates just how bright the LED is.
